Ubisoftmay not have had a particularly busy 2022 just yet, but it’s poised to release quite a few major games before the end of the year. Its current 2022 calendar includes games likeMario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and a remake ofPrince of Persia: Sands of Time, all of which have the potential to be big hits. In order to ensure that these games succeed, however,Ubisoftfirst needs to nail down their release dates. Whether they still release within 2022 or get delayed into next year, these games and many more deserve to be a part of a new Ubisoft Forward.

There haven’t been many Ubisoft Forward showcases to date, but each has been valuable in keeping Ubisoft fans up to date on major games while showing offjust how prolific Ubisoft is. One would think that these showcases would be more common due to the company’s high number of projects, but there haven’t been any Ubisoft Forward events since June 2021 during the last E3. It’s high time that Ubisoft arranges another presentation that outlines the state of its various upcoming games. With E3 2022 out of the picture, the need for another Ubisoft Forward is greater than ever.

Ubisoft’s Many Upcoming Games

Lots of potential Ubisoft 2022 games need updates. For instance, while all signs suggest thatMario + Rabbidswill release on time,Prince of Persia’s recent developer switch may suggest that the game needs another delay, pushing it into 2023. The need forAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorainformation has also grown of late, now that the release ofAvatar: The Way of Wateris in sight. Another Ubisoft Forward would be the perfect opportunity to provide a timeline for these impending releases and get Ubisoft’s calendar for the latter half of 2022 organized.

Of course, there are many games without release windows worth discussing at the next Ubisoft Forward too. WithAssassin’s Creed: Valhallain the rearview mirror, fans want to know what’s next for theAssassin’s Creedfranchise.Ubisoft’s troubled pirate gameSkull & Bonesalso needs to reemerge, especially after recent leaks hinted at ongoing complications in the game’s development. Beyond these two titles, Ubisoft’sStar Warsgame,Beyond Good and Evil 2, the remake ofTom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, and many other games add up to a veritable mountain of content that Ubisoft can and feature in its next showcase. Many of these games and franchises have eluded fans for months or years, so it’s time for a blockbuster Ubisoft Forward.

The Likelihood of Ubisoft Forward Returning

While Ubisoft hasn’t hinted at a new Ubisoft Forward just yet, it seems highly likely that the company will arrange another showcase this summer. The first Ubisoft Forward released in July 2020 in the wake of E3’s cancellation, so now that E3 2022 has also been axed, it stands to reason that Ubisoft will bring out a showcase of its own in lieu of an E3 presentation.Other companies like Xbox and Bethesdaare announcing individual showcases little by little, so Ubisoft announcing another Ubisoft Forward seems inevitable.

Consideringjust how busy Ubisoft keeps itself, it’s frankly surprising that it hasn’t revisited the Ubisoft Forward since June 2021. It has plenty of material to show off and more than enough fans to appeal to with a showcase, so making Ubisoft Forward more habitual would seem like a logical move. Maybe E3 2022’s cancellation will act as a wake-up call for Ubisoft, encouraging it to arrange more of its own presentations in the future. First, though, it needs to announce a showcase for 2022. Hopefully the summer of 2022 will include a presentation like the first Ubisoft Forward, shedding valuable light on the company’s vision for the next several months.
