The sixth season for the free-to-play battle royaleApex Legendsreleases in less than a week. Season 6: Boosted will introduce new features toApex Legendswith weapon crafting stations, dynamic map changes, a new weapon, plenty of skins and of course thenewest playable legend, Rampart.

The trailer shows off some of Rampart’s abilities and two of her brutal executions. Rampart’s abilities allow her to set up her turret and deploy amped cover, and at one point in the trailer, Rampart deploys three turrets and amped covers to let her teammates have some fun as well. It is assumed that her turret is her ultimate ability, while her other deployable cover ability boosts gun damage from behind the shield and blocks incoming gunfire.Rampart’s amazing character model, backstory, and abilities are sure to draw players in to choose her as a new main.

The Season 6 trailer also shows off a few impressive battle pass rewards, like new skins for the Triple Take, Spitfire, and the Devotion, all included in the battle pass. The G7 Scout has two evolving skins that will most likely be the level 100 and 110 rewards.

Apex LegendsSeason 6 will also introduce a new weapon, the VOLT sub-machine gun. The trailer shows the VOLT in action, shredding enemies down with wildly accurate hip fire. Many believed that the new weapon would be acompound bowbased on the previous trailer, but it seems thatApex Legendsdevelopers once again have thrown off leakers successfully in order to surprise fans.

One thing many may have missed in the trailer is the details surrounding the new crafting station. For a split second, fans can see the menu of the crafting station, which displays eight different items at differing material prices. What is most interesting about the crafting menu is that each item has either “daily” or “weekly” attached so this points to a rotation of items in the crafting station for all players.

Also most likely missed by fans is the Turbocharger being one of the crafting station items. The Turbocharger is officially back to power-up the Devotion, Havoc, and possiblythe new VOLT SMG. Between Rampart’s turret, the new SMG, and the turbocharger returning, Season 6 is gearing up for a ton of bullets flying around at any given time.

Rampart’s turret is something players are going to have to watch out for, as, in action, Rampart’s turret is capable of downing an entire team in a matter of seconds. Combining the turret and her deployable cover, as seen in the trailer, will boost the firepower of the turret and render it another team’s worst nightmare. Players will have to formulate strategies to adapt to all of the additions coming in Season 6 in just a few days.

Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Steam and Switch port coming later this year.
