ThePokemongames feature a host of cute, cool, and occasionally creepy pocket monsters for gamers to encounter, capture, train, and befriend. Although there are around 900 Pokemon currently available in various games, the original 150 Pokemon are some of the most popular. Recently, one artist has made an impressivePokemonpainting showcasing two of the original 150, Eevee and Charmander.

Charmander is one of the Kanto starter trio–it’s the Fire-type Pokemon that players could choose to begin thePokemonGen 1 games with. Eevee, meanwhile, is a Normal-type Pokemon that has stayed relevant across multiple generations due to its unique characteristic. Eevee was introduced as the only Pokemon that had multiple evolutionary options of different types, which made it a versatile choice for any player’s team.

Redditor Sifyro shared anadorable painting of Charmanderand Eevee together. According to the accompanying text, it’s a quick painting the artist created while in a cafe, but the product looks polished and professional. In the image, an orange Charmander is shown lying on its side with its back to the viewer. A fluffy brown and white Eevee is shown snuggling up beside it, with the Eevee’s chin resting on the Charmander’s shoulder.

The two Pokemon appear to be taking a nap in a cave, judging by the way shadows fall over them about halfway down Charmander’s body and at Eevee’s head. The tip of Charmander’s glowing tail is looped over Eevee’s fluffy one, just far enough away that Eevee’s fur won’t catch on fire. Both Pokemon appear to be deeply asleep, although the feline grin on Eevee’s face and the way its cheeks appear to be smushed from cuddling into Charmander may suggest it’s only pretending to sleep. This isn’t the first timePokemonfans have captured their favorite creatures in a painting, but it may be one of the most lifelike.

As of writing, it appears thatotherPokemonfans are interestedin and impressed by Sifyro’s work. A second user immediately asked how expensive the painting would be to buy, while a third expressed congratulations that such an adorable piece of fan art had been made in such a short time. Regardless, it can’t be denied that Sifyro has produced some very cute, sleepy Pokemon.
