On Reddit, user Persies has shared photos of their encounter with a cabbage salesman and the consensus is that this is a reference toAvatar: The Last Airbender. Fans of the series will remember the long-running joke of a man selling cabbages who constantly has his cart destroyed by the antics of Aang and his friends. It seems thatBaldur’s Gate 3has its own cabbage merchant who is very protective of his stock and even has a prejudice against monks.
In the photos shared on Reddit, the merchant, known as Geezer Loryss, is standing near an overturned cart with cabbages strewn across the ground. The subtitles reveal him to be complaining about thieves destroying his business. Even better, he also appears to have special dialogue for Monk characters, saying that they only cause him trouble. This might add to thereasons for fans to play a Monk inBaldur’s Gate 3.
Loryss' response to monks makes sense as, inAvatar, Aang is a monk, himself. For many Reddit users, the cabbages and the Monk dialogue prove that this must be an Easter egg inserted byAvatarfans. The reference is all the more fitting as a warrior with power over the elements is amongthe subclasses for Monks inBaldur’s Gate 3.
Few gamers will ever see everything thatBaldur’s Gate 3has to offer. One of the exciting things about the title is just how much stuff there is to find. Still, fans ofAvatar: The Last Airbendermay want to make it a point to seek out and interact with Geezer Loryss. They may even want to look into thebest builds forBaldur’s Gate 3Monksso they can get the most out of the encounter.
