The latestBaldur’s Gate 3update is much smaller than other updates. Even the previousHotfix 23 forBaldur’s Gate 3had a much more extensive list of changes, but the small number of fixes in Hotfix 24 are all extremely important. A crash that appeared during the transition between Act 2 and 3 has been eliminated, while an issue that prevented players from using Short Rests at specific points in the game has been fixed. Many gamers playing the Mac version ofBaldur’s Gate 3reported lower performance in the game since Hotfix 21, and this should also now be solved as a result of the latest update.

Although the frequent Hotfixes are a great way for Larian to solve smaller issues inBaldur’s Gate 3, the wait goes on for the next large patch.Patch 6 forBaldur’s Gate 3was released back in February, bringing a massive amount of fixes and even some new content to the game. Larian has yet to speak about anything related to Patch 7, and hopefully, it’s in the works for a release in the near future.

With Larian moving on fromBaldur’s Gate 3, it’ll be interesting to see the direction the studio takes in the coming years. The critical and commercialsuccess ofBaldur’s Gate 3gives the studio room to take any route it wants, and while it’s likely gamers won’t hear from Larian about its plans for some time, the possibility of it being free from the restrictions of existing IP is an exciting prospect.
