AlthoughBattlefield 2042is officially scheduled to launch on November 19, some gamers are already participating in 128-player chaos thanks to Electronic Arts placing it in Early Access. It appears thatBattlefield 2042has garnered vocal but very mixed reactions from Early Access players.
Players were informed ahead of time that not all theissues found in theBattlefield 2042betawould be fixed on launch, but this hasn’t kept some gamers from pointing out the problems in question. Meanwhile, other gamers appear to be entertaining themselves by stumbling around the battlefield blindly, driving vehicles off skyscrapers, and making unexpected discoveries about the game.

Parris, one of the co-hosts of Gamertag Radio, stated on his verified Twitter account that he was disappointed inBattlefield 2042and considered it “unready.” He stated that, just as he’d believed back duringtheBattlefield 2042beta, the game needed more development time. The replies to his post were split between people who were enjoying the game and people who agreed that it was currently a buggy mess.
YouTuber KriticalKris, on the other hand, shared a video that drew attention to one ofBattlefield 2042’s spectacular set pieces, namely the one that saw players airlifted over an exploding building. He directly compared thistrailer-worthy gameplay clip ofBattlefield 2042to a Michael Bay film. While the video is certainly spectacular, one reply from user GFaqan declared that the game is all spectacle and has no substance.
Twitch Affiliate Rebutta shared a 53-second-long clip of himself and several other players ascending an elevator to the top of a building inoneBattlefield 2042mapand finding a vehicle on the roof. The group excitedly piled into the vehicle while chattering about the odds that they would all die from fall damage before driving straight off the edge. They got about 15 seconds of hang-time before crash landing in a heap of plant matter, laughing and whooping into their mics the whole time.
ModernWarzone, an account that primarily coversCall of Dutynews, has also gone on the record as stating that they aredisappointed inBattlefield 2042. They claimed that they wantedBattlefield 2042to be so good it could provideCall of Duty: Vanguardwith some serious competition and are bitter this did not happen.
One reply from user iceberg1980 agreed and went so far as to state thatCall of Duty: Warzonewould be a better game thanBattlefield 2042if the developers could crackdown on hackers. Clearly, player responses are very mixed thus far, and it will be interesting to see how players feel once the game officially releases.
