Eiyuden Chronicle: Risingis a fairly simple tale for an RPG. CJ is a young female adventurer on the lookout for treasure, and her pursuits lead her to a new town that she find in ruins. The town is willing to help CJ in her quest for loot as long as she helps spruce up the place.

Taking on quests inEiyuden Chronicle: Risingwill help rebuild the town and unlock new features like shops. There is a larger plot involving bandits and a mystical past, but those are the story cliff notes. However, there is a lot more beginners can learn before starting the game. So, theseEiyuden Chronicle: Risingtipsmay help.

Do Every Quest

To become the ultimate set of warriors inEiyuden Chronicle: Rising, players should do every quest. They all amount to the same thingin an RPG: fetch quests. The game is fairly linear at first, where there will be only one quest available needed to progress the story. Eventually, things will start to open up more.

It’s a good idea to plan expeditions around quests. For example, when entering the forest, finish every quest there before moving on. The same goes for the quarry and every area beyond that. Finishing quests will produce stamps, and once enough are collected, the village will level up and offer new opportunities.

Fighting enemies in Eiyuden Chronicle Rising

CJ, the main character, will be alone for about the first hour of this game. Eventually, Garoo will join the team as her first ally. On Switch, CJ’s attacks will be mapped to the Y buttonon the controllerwhile Garoo will use X.

In the middle of a strike, players can hit the other button to summon an ally into battle. This will trigger aLink Attack. Time will slow down and damage will often reach critical points. Mainline CJ as the exploratory character and use Garoo to deal massive damage with a Link Attack. This is a good early attack strategy.

You Can Fight Bosses On Repeat

One of the more interesting aspects ofEiyuden Chronicle: Risingis that players canfight bosses infinitely. The first forest boss is a tree followed by a golem in the quarry. Both of these bosses reward players with rare crafting materials on top of huge amounts of experience points.

For those struggling with the game, it might be a good idea to power level through this boss trick. Warp to the boss area, beat it, warp back to town, and rest. That will reset everything so that players can repeat the process. It’s a cumbersome strategy with a few steps, but it does work.

Tips About Saving

There are two ways to save inEiyuden Chronicle: Rising. First, there is the standardautosave featurethat most AAAand indie gamesimplement. However, this feature does not save the game often enough for players to rely on it solely. Users can alsosave the game in their in-town housewhere they can also rest to reset dungeons and heal.

In dungeons, there aresignposts, which is how players can fast travel around dungeons as well as save. There are three save slots available, which isn’t a lot, and it’s a good idea to rotate between them. In case anything goes wrong with one, there will always be a backup.

Your Stowbag And Your Resource Bag

There are two types of bags players need to understand before entering a dungeon.A stowbag is used for items like healing potions. At first, players can only equip a few bottles at a time. Let’s say the player has twenty potions in reserve but only six stowbag slots. Once those six potions are used, that’s it. Players can equip more at the dungeon entrance or in town though.

Theresource bag gathers crafting materials and can only hold fifty items at first. When players reach a new signpost, they should travel back to the entrance, empty their resource bag, and then warp back to continue the adventure. Keep both these things in mind to help create asmoother RPG experience.

Remembering To Rest

Eiyuden Chronicle: Risingis not that hard of an action RPG even though there are no difficulty levelsor assist options. Still, players are going to get hit and lose HP. That’s just a given no matter how skilled a player is.

Don’t forget to rest up in town. To reiterate, players will get a house in town to rest and save. This will reset the world including monsters and resources. It will also remove buffs. For example, players will eventually build an Inn where they can bathe to increase stats temporarily. The best one increases experience points gained. So, after resting, don’t forget to hit up the Inn before adventuring again.

Crafting And Shop Tips

Eiyuden Chronicle: Risinghas a system that is quite unlikemost other RPGs.Players can unlock shop items once they craft them. For example, if players bake a dish at the cafe, that dish can then either be crafted for free again using materials or it can be bought without the need for materials.

This opens up options without forcing players to grind for both money and materials. That’s a plus for an RPG like this. Therefore, never sell any materials as it’s hard to know when they will be useful again.

Take Manual Notes

Eiyuden Chronicle: Risingis like a Metroidvania in that players will unlock new equipment and skills to explore further. The forest and quarry areas become available fairly quickly in the campaign, however, it takes a while before they are fully opened up. There are progression tools such as a pickaxe to mine for ore, Garoo’s sword which can break through rock, elemental nodes that can get through certain barriers and the list goes on. It’s like a Metroidvania with branching dungeons and a hub town.

Since that is the style of the game, it might be a good idea to take manual notes and screenshots. For example, there might be a treasure that is out of reach. Making a note will help players remember to go back once a new power is unlocked.
