Danjin is one of the most intriguing characters inWuthering Waves. Despite technically being a 4-Star, she is among the highest potential DPS characters in the game, up there with thelikes of Calcharo, Encore, and Jiyan.
To use Danjin effectively, players will need to understand how her kit works and which combination of characters constitutes the best team composition to take advantage of her abilities as a DPS and sub-DPS.
1Danjin + Mortefi + Verina
Mortefi and Verina are both excellent for complementing Danjin’s no-holds-barred playstyle. Mortefi serves as a Sub-DPS in this team, using his Liberation to create an automated turret that attacks enemies whenever the on-field character uses a basic or heavy attack. His outro skill gives a 38% boost to Heavy Attack DMG, and since Danjin uses her Heavy Attack quite frequently to heal herself, this adds up.
Verina is the best Healer and Buffer inWuthering Waves, giving Danjin an extremely generous window for mistakes. Danjin’s kit revolves around her constantly draining her HP with her skill and then getting it back with her heavy attack, leaving little room for mistakes. With Verina, even if players mess up Danjin’s combo or an enemy breaks the flow, they can quick swap to the resident healer, use her abilities to get the rest of the team to near-full, and get back into the groove.
2Danjin + Taoqi + Jianxin
Danjin is a high-risk, high-DPS character who likes to stay as low on health as possible while still remaining alive on the battlefield. In essence, she doesn’t necessarilywanthealing.Jianxin functions mainly as a shielder and buffer, giving Danjin an easy swap out when things are not going her way. Jianxin’s skill also allows her to perfectly parry every single attack in the game (once), allowing players to handle particularly hard-to-dodge boss attacks with ease. With her ultimate and outro skill, Jianxin can CC enemies (sort of likeVenti fromGenshin Impact), allowing Danjin an easier time hitting enemies.
Taoqi is the secondary shielder, giving Danjin even more resistance to taking damage from enemy attacks, allowing her to perform her combo without having to pay attention to anything else. Not only that, but Taoqi is extremely easy to build because her best weapon, the 4-Star Dauntless Evernight, can actually be found completely for free via in-game exploration.

3Danjin + Havoc Rover + Baizhi
In this team, Danjin serves the role of the Sub-DPS,buffing Havoc Rover with her outro skill, which provides the incoming character with 23% Havoc DMG Deepen. Baizhi is here as a dedicated healer because while Danjin doesn’t necessarily need a healer, Havoc Rover does. And since players will obtain Baizhi as a healer for free, this team can be built very easily on even F2P accounts with little to no investment.
When built as a main DPS, Havoc Rover requires significant investment in their kit, butwith the correct echoes, they can shine as a damage dealer, especially when accompanied by Danjin and Baizhi. To top it off, this team comp is extremely flexible, as Baizhi can be swapped for Verina, Taoqi, or even Jianxin, depending on the character availability.
