Summary
The list of the best Medium weapons inThe FinalsSeason 4 has gone through a fair number of changes. The said class is quite versatile and serves as a decent middle ground between the Light and the Heavy. So it has a little something for everyone, whether players choose the classic AKM for mid-range bouts or get up close and personal with the Model 1887 shotgun.
This topic focuses on the Medium class' weapons and ranks their strengths and weaknesses. The FinalsSeason 4 meta is highly influenced by the said class, especially owing to the shotgun and the new firearm, the Pike-556. With the additions, balance tweaks, and more changes, it becomes pertinent to check out which Medium build weapons are worth picking up for competitive play.
Updated June 03, 2025, by Amjad A. Asma:The new meta is Medium-heavy, with the Model 1887 shotgun and the new Pike-556 ruling the roost. These are thus the best Medium weapons in The Finals Season 4 meta, with fan-favorite AKM and FCAR coming in close. The balance changes for the other guns haven’t been as significant, and their overall effect is much the same as earlier.
It should be noted that three Medium weapons picks, namely Riot Shield, R.357, and Dual Blades, have been skipped from this list. They haven’t seen a change worthwhile enough to make them impactful. These Medium weapons offer extremely niche use cases and can be fun in a match, but they aren’t competitively viable in The Finals Season 4 meta.
6CL-40
Decent For Crowd-Control In Lower-Skill Lobbies
The CL-40 is a good Medium class weapon inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta, but it requires teamwork to be viable. It has undergone two changes so far in the new season, and currently comes with five rounds, a 2.3s reload speed, and 100 damage. Players can also use things like the Jump Pads, aMedium class gadget inThe Finals, to bounce off their grenades around corners.
There are a few issues with the CL-40 that hamper its viability. For one, there’s a 1.6 damage multiplier on the player using it, so they can’t wildly fire when right next to a target. The area of effect is 30cm, which isn’t always enough for its crowd-control impact to be felt. It’s also, naturally, a projectile weapon rather than a hitscan, and can thus make some shots a bit difficult to land accurately.Overall, someone running the Medium class’ CL-40 inThe FinalsSeason 4 will need a team built around it to have a good chance at winning matches.
5FAMAS
Burst-Fire AR With Good Range And Damage
The FAMAS is a pretty good Medium class weapon to try out inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta, especially if fans are having trouble with the AKM or the FCAR’s recoil. This gun shoots in bursts of three bullets, which makes the recoil and aim reset much easier to control. The bullet drop-off is also decent, along with a 27-round magazine and a 2.4s reload speed. It also comes with a damage multiplier for headshots.
A couple of issues that hold the FAMAs back from being higher on this list of the Medium class weapons forThe FinalsSeason 4 meta. Due to the burst fire, players essentially have “nine” shots. This usually requires them to be really accurate with their aim: the Heavies may be left alive if they miss even a couple of shots, while the Mediums and the Lights may escape before being killed. Next, the combination of a slightly higher reload speed and a lower rate of fire (RoF) puts players at a disadvantage in trade-offs.
4AKM
Classic AR With Great RoF And Mag Size
The AKM (or the AK-47) is the default assault rifle that many FPS players gravitate towards. Things are no different here - the AKM is a strong and reliable Medium class weapon and can easily meltthe best Heavy builds inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta. It deals decent damage of 20 to the body and 30 via headshots. The biggest advantage in its corner is that its rate of fire is one of the highest in the game. The recoil is quite high, too, but the bullet spread is tight enough at shorter distances.
The AKM’s mag size was reduced from 36 to 32 withThe FinalsSeason 4’s launch. This is a nerf, yes, but it’s fairly mild. The high damage, rate of fire, and now the add-on optics ensure that it remains a very strong option in the current meta.
3FCAR
Great Precision And Accuracy At The Cost of Mag Size
The FCAR has been a top-tier Medium class weapon inThe Finalssince the very start. It has gone through a number of balance tweaks so far, but it remains a very reliable AR even when compared to the AKM. Currently, it comes with a smaller 25-round magazine, a 2s reload speed, and a good deal of damage (22 base and 33 crit). The optics are quite clear, and the slight magnification helps poke longer-range targets.
Although the mag size is lower here, the FCAR sports higher damage and a more lenient recoil. Both help players make an impact at all ranges. While the AKM and the FCAR are well-balanced, even against each other, the latter’s higher damage and better recoil control help it just edge past the former inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta.
2Pike-556
Marksman Rifle With Great Range And Damage
The Pike-556 is the new weapon added to the Medium class inThe FinalsSeason 4. This marksman rifle is dominating the meta right now, with a great chunk using either it or the Model 1887.The Pike-556’s popularity is well-deserved: the Medium class is now way more impactful at longer range than the Heavy or the Light. It handily trumps the SR-84, which was one of thebest Light class weapons inThe Finals' metabefore it got nerfed to a projectile system beyond 40m.
The Pike-556 comes with 12 rounds and a 3s reload speed. With 52 base damage and 78 crit damage, it is a beast in any fight, especially at mid-to-long range. The recoil is naturally a bit high to stop it from being spam-heavy. However, it’s still very reliable and hard-hitting, and just a smidge of a pause can significantly tighten up the bullet spread. The new Pike-556 is, without a doubt, one of the best Medium weapons inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta.
1Model 1887
Great Damage At Short-To-Mid Range
The Model 1887 is, almost unanimously agreed by fans, the best Medium weapon inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta. The lever-action shotgun comes with a six-round magazine and a 3s reload speed, which does make it slower when trading with multiple opponents. However, a single target is usually dead in two-to-three rounds. It is also quite effective in taking downthe Heavy class' protective gadget, the Dome Shield.
The Model 1887 hasn’t received any balance tweaks in a while, but it’s still the strongest Medium class weapon inThe FinalsSeason 4 meta.It deals 128 damage and doesn’t increase the count on ADS, which means there’s no need to waste time in moving away from hip-fire. Another advantage is that players don’t need to wait for the entire magazine to be reloaded—they can fire when even one bullet is chambered. This helps mitigate reload downtime when pursuing a target.
