Summary

The new edition of7 Days to Diehas introduced even more complex game mechanics toits zombie-infested maps. As players start exploring and gathering resources, they will quickly run out of inventory space. Thankfully, as the game progresses, players can invest points or use armor mods to increase the amount they can carry. But even then, players will need to make frequent visits to the nearest trader to turn some of their unwanted junk into Dukes.

It can be tricky knowingwhich items are worth sellingand which ones are worth hanging onto. Some items, however, are easy must-sells that7 Days to Dieplayers should sell to traders whenever they get the chance.

A Gun Mod in 7 Days to Die

Updated June 15, 2025, by Benjamin Joe:Since its release,7 Days To Die1.0 has already had an update that has changed a few in-game mechanics. Not only that, but there’s going to be a new and even larger update coming to the game in the near future. With all the hype around the game and its updates, it’s a good time to update this article. While the original article did contain a lot of the core selling items, there are a couple of other items that didn’t make the cut. Additional details have also been added for certain items on the list that are only good to sell at certain times during a playthrough.

10Guns & Gun Mods

Unused Weapons

Guns will play a big part in7 Days to Dieas time goes on. However, in the beginning, aside from low-tier pipe weapons, players won’t have much of a need for gun parts. Since gun parts typically sell for a fair amount of Dukes, it’s worth selling them to purchase moreuseful things like foodand armor mods.

Items like rocket launcher parts are pretty useless to players during the first few weeks. So, there really isn’t much point in hanging on to them. Plus, as the player progresses and begins visiting large towns and cities, they will come across lots of guns and gun parts.

Trader Rekt in 7 Days to Die

9Sell Weapon Mods & Weapons Separately

Maximize Profits

While there are some exceptions, more often than not, weapons andarmor pieces that have mods on themwill sell for more if the mods are sold separately from the weapons/armor pieces.

For example, if the player wants to sell a Fire Axe, they will make more Dukes if they remove any mods that may be on the axe and then sell the axe and the mods in separate transactions.7 Days to Dieplayers should always do some price comparison before selling any items with mods attached to see what’s more valuable.

Selling A Wrench To Trader Rekt In 7 Days To Die

8Repair Items Before Selling Them

Make More Dukes By Selling Quality Items

If the player sells an item with a small amount of durability, then they won’t get a lot of Dukes for it. The better condition an item is in, the more Dukes the player will receive when selling it.

This may not always be the case as, sometimes, the resources required to repair the item may exceed the item’s overall worth, but for the most part,7 Days to Dieplayers should try to sell items in the best condition possible to maximize the amount of Dukes that traders will pay for them.

A Dropped Knife in 7 Days To Die

7Lower Level Items

There Is No Need To Hang On To Old Items

Each time the player levels up certain perks or reads certain magazines, they will learn how to craft items at higher levels. Also, while looting, as the player levels up, they’ll start coming acrosshigher-level items. For example, if the player uses a level 2 pistol but stumbles across a level 3 pistol, there’s no value in keeping the old weapon.

It’s worth turning in weapons that are no longer needed for a few Dukes at the nearest trader. However, players should also pay close attention to the mods on their weapons and always remove any important ones before parting with a weapon.

Magazine Loot in 7 Days To Die

6Unwanted Magazines

There Is No Need To Level Up Every Skill Early On

Magazines play a big part in character progression in7 Days to Die. Players need certain magazines to learn how to craft specific in-game items. Since there are a lot of different paths players can choose in terms of perk selection, it’s important that they sell any magazines that aren’t particularly useful to them.

Selling items nets some XP as well as Dukes, so it can help players to level up a little faster. When the player finds a magazine, they should check to see if it is useful for their playstyle. If not, then it may be worth selling it.

A Player Holding Electrical Parts in 7 Days To Die

5Mechanical And Electrical Parts

Hang On To A Few And Sell The Rest

Early on, players won’t have much use forMechanical and Electrical Parts, but these resources are definitely worth hanging on to later on. During the first couple of weeks, these items can make for quite a nice profit. Players shouldn’t sell all of their Mechanical and Electrical Parts, however, as it’s worth keeping some just in case. But, if the player has a fairly large amount, then it can be very beneficial to turn them in for some Dukes.

Since Mechanical Parts and Electrical Parts are fairly easy to come by, especially if the player has a wrench, there’s no need to horde them early on.

A Wad Of Old Cash In 7 Days To Die

4Old Money

Exchange Cash For Cash

Dukes are the accepted currency of the zombie apocalypse. However, some people still have pre-outbreak money stashed away in their homes, safes, and even on their persons. Players can kill zombies and loot homes for this cash.

While it can be scrapped down for cloth, it’s much more profitable to sell this form of currency to a trader. Also, since players can hold money in large amounts, it is a great item to horde in large quantities to sell to one of the game’s traders.

Super Corn In 7 Days To Die

3Super Corn

Hard To Find, Easy To Grow, Plenty Of Profit

Super Corn is a very rare crop that can be planted and grown. Once grown, it can be used to craft duct tape. In7 Days To Die,players can never have too much duct tape. Not only can Super Corn be used to craft duct tape, but it can also be sold for a huge profit.Players can make thousands of Dukes every few days by dedicating an area to Super Corn production.

Finding this item can be a little tricky. While there’s a small chance that players can find Super Corn inside loot containers or receive it as a mission reward, the best place to go to get it is thebasement at Carl’s Corn.Players can alsoget Super Corn inside the Shamway Food Factory. However, this is a high-level area that is very tough to clear.

Mining Rocks In 7 Days To Die

2Precious Metals

Sell Gold, Silver, & Diamonds For A Nice Chunk Of Change

After reading The Art Of Mining Volume 1, the player will begin picking up the occasional lump of rare metal while mining.Players have a small chance of picking up diamonds, gold, and silver with every swing. These materials, while hard to come by, are very valuable. Whether the player enjoys mining or not, it’s something that they will need to do regularly in order to build and upgrade their base. The more the player mines, the more rare materials they’ll get, which is a nice incentive for doing what would otherwise be a rather tedious task.

1Plants

Certain Plants Can Be Very Rewarding

There are plants dotted all over various regions in7 Days to Die. Items like Goldenrod, Cotton, and Chrysanthemum can be harvested and thencrafted into certain drinksand basic items. While they won’t fetch players a lot of money, each one is typically worth a couple of Dukes.

If the player wants to take it one step further and craft items like Golden Rod Tea, then they can sell them for even more Dukes. But especially during the early game, selling various plants can help players buy some much-needed items for survival.
