The game’s tagline is “IT HITS DIFFERENT,” which is certainly true as it’s the first time in years when a WWE game took two years to make.
BeforeWWE 2K22, every game in the series was a yearly release. However, due to the messy launch and bugs inWWE 2K20, publisher2K Gamesdecided to ditch the 2K21 and released a much more polished game in 2022.
9WWE 2K14
WWE 2K14is the last game-changing WWE title and the first one in the 2K franchise. The game came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and carried a lot of great stuff from old games.WWE 2K14was essentially an overhaul of features from every game that came before it, which is a big reason it stands at a great user score on Metacritic.
Thegame offered mechanical changes and additional modes, which played flawlessly on the consoles. With multiple “OMG” moments and a new and expanded “Create-a-Superstar” mode, 2K14 is a great game to experience special matches like Elimination Chamber in all their glory.

WWE 2K19does whatWWE 2K17failed to do, perfecting the 2K gameplay formula in every way. While previously the games have struggled in one way or the other,2K19was when the series peaked in the best way possible. With none other than AJ Styles on the cover,WWE 2K19shows a phenomenal variety in match types, roster, and creation suite and brings in various new game modes.

In 2004, WWE made a giant leap in its gameplay formula and went from the arcade-style gameplay of popular SmackDown! Games to a simulation-based game design. The first entry in this new experiment was WWESmackDown! vs. Raw, released in November 2004, exclusively on PlayStation 2.
As a result of being the first of its kind and a completely new gameplay experience, fans critically praised SmackDown! vs. Raw for what it tried to do. Anyone who played the game in 2004 appreciated the attention to detail in every mode, and one such mode is Elimination Chamber.

This game takes the top spot, and it’s all due to the gameplay mechanics of the good-old Smackdown titles. Unlike the pseudo-realistic gameplay of modern WWE games,WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Painoffers flawless arcade-style wrestling gameplay. It’s a simple game where the players must push L2 to reverse strikes, R2 to reverse grapple,and both simultaneously to reverse the finishers.
This game removes the tedious, monotonous gameplay loop of slowing building the finishers and lets the players wreak havoc in different game modes. Elimination Chamber inWWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Painis unlike anything anyone can play in other wrestling games. It’s just pure fun.
