Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed are longtimeCall of Dutygame modes that should be familiar to most fans. However, VIP Escort andCombined Armsare completely new match types making their debut inBlack Ops Cold War. Combined Arms is a 12v12 game mode that plays like a super-sized version of Domination on large maps, with the goal of capturing six flags. The mode is also notable for its use of vehicular gameplay, with the available vehicles changing depending on the map.

VIP Escort, meanwhile, is a much different experience. InVIP Escort, two teams of six compete with one person serving as the “VIP,” armed with nothing but a pistol, a smoke grenade, and the Spy Plane scorestreak. The goal of the team with the VIP is to escort them to an extraction site, while the goal of the other team is to kill the VIP. Players are able to revive each other in VIP Escort, though each team has a limited number of lives to work with.
