Weapon camos have been a constant presence in theCall of Dutyseries since the originalModern WarfareandCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris no different, offeringvarious colors and patternsfor players to show off to others online.
Of course, not all these camos are easy to unlock, such as the Diamond camo. Normally, acquiring it would take players hours and hours of playtime, as they’d need to first get the Gold camo for five different weapons in the same class, although there are plenty of players who feel thatthe Diamond camo isn’t as lustrous as it should beand not worth the effort, especially when compared to the Dark Matter Ultra and Dark Aether camos.

However, YouTuber CodeNamePizza has discovered an exploit withinCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warthat allows players to unlock the weapon camo instantly, which is perfect for anybody that doesn’t want to put in the work. The only downsides are that it requires a very specific string of actions and will only work for one weapon at a time.
The exploit does require cooperation with a friend, so two players will need to work together to pull it off. First, player 2 must host a multiplayer lobby while Player 1 goes into create-a-class and equip the Law Breaker wild card. Player 1 then picks and equips whichever weapon they want to get the Diamond camo for in the secondary slot. The exploit will only work if only the first camo has been unlocked. Hover over the first camo and then open the friends list.
Player 2, who’s hosting the lobby, must then switch over to Zombies. Once in Zombies, player 1 needs to back from the Social tab and and go to the camo screen. Then, by selecting the first camo previously hovered over, it should unlock all camos for that weapon. Next, go to the weapons mastery tab and select the Diamond camo and, from the camo tab, open the friends list and have the host change back to Multiplayer. Then simply return to the camo tab and apply the Diamond camo again. This should unlock and apply the camo for Multiplayer.
Its unfortunate that this routine must be repeated should someone wish to unlock the Diamond camo for multiple weapons, but it’s at least there for anyone interested. Don’t be surprised, though, if Activision and Treyarch issue a patch down the line that removes this exploit.
ForCall of Duty: Mobileplayers, there is so far no such exploit to unlock the Diamond camo in that game. Those players need to earn it legitimately by reaching a certain kill count with each weapon, which is arguably simpler than howCold Warhandles it.
That said, Activision and Treyarch may want to prioritize some of the nastier bugs and glitches plaguing the game at the moment. The Diamond camo exploit, ultimately, doesn’t affect or hamper the gameplay, as opposed toa recent invisibility glitch.
Some players have also been encounteringa Server Queue errorthat prevents them from joining online games. However, there does appear to be a simple workaround to deal with the problem.
