The latest update forCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waradds a popular feature from previous games in the series, allowing players to complete daily challenges. From now on,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfans can reap some extra rewards from multiplayer and Zombies every day.
The highly requested feature tasks players with completing three different tasks each day. Like the reserve challenge system inCall of Duty: Black Ops 4, players will be able to select which challenges they prefer, choosing objectives that suit their play style. The challenges range from securing a certain number of care packages to racking up a set kill count in a specificgame mode like Fireteam Dirty Bomb, giving players variety in their daily objectives.

Treyarch announced the daily challenge news via a Tweet last night, confirming a few new additions that accompany the system’s arrival. In place of the “Raid the Mall” playlist, Raid 24/7 has been added, letting players enjoy the remasteredCall of Duty: Black Ops 2classic whenever they want.A 3v3 mode called Faceoffwas also added to the game, letting slightly larger teams do battle onCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s gunfight maps. Nuketown 24/7 remains in the rotation, giving players another place to grind out their daily challenges.
Double Battle Pass XPis live inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, letting players move through the 100 Pass tiers a bit faster until the event ends on December 28. While there is plenty of variety in the pass rewards, the same cannot be said for the daily challenges. UnlikeCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s daily challenge system where a variety of items could be obtained, players will only be able to get XP from these new daily challenges.
This could change in the future, as there is plenty of potential for the challenges to grant players cosmetic rewards such as calling cards, emblems, and reticles. IfCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warintroduces an Elixir or Gobblegum system to Zombies, the survival mode’s daily challenges may offer the currency needed to craft the special buffs — just like they did inCall of Duty: Black Ops 3andCall of Duty: Black Ops 4. For now, though,Call of DutyZombies fansand multiplayer users alike will only be getting XP from their daily tasks.
Regardless of whether the reward variety expands in the future, three extra bursts of XP every 24 hours is still a positive addition. With the challenges keeping their progress even when swapped out, the system should helpCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers cope withthe rumored nerf to XP.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
