Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s integrationwithCall of Duty: Warzonewas announced to start on December 10, kicking off alongside Season 1 ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Bringing the weapons of the latestBlack Opstitle intoCall of Duty: Warzone, alongside new locations and operators, the integration has been a major selling point for Activision. However, a Call of Duty Blog post has announced that the December 10 date is no longer accurate.

Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers looking to make use of 1980s weaponry orexplore the new prestige ranking systemintroduced byCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill need to wait a week longer than originally expected. The new date for theCall of Duty: Warzoneintegration is December 16th, with players being given two free bundles as an apology for the delay. Players who log on between December 8th and December 15th will be given access to the bundles, which include operator skins, weapon blueprints, and other cosmetics.
While it is unclear what the cause is for such a delay, theNuke event that has been rumoredcould be a cause, as the supposed launch of Verdansk’s dormant nuke is set to be quite the spectacle. Beyond that, the potential delay could give the developers time to focus on improving the current state ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as the game’s endlessly growing number of glitches are in need of a fix.
With there already being some pros andcons forCall of Duty: WarzoneintegratingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcontent, it is important that the transition goes as smoothly as possible for the crossover. WithCall of Duty: Warzonebeing the massive success that it is, the integration being something negative for the battle royale game is something Activision surely does not want to happen. With the crossover introducing some complicated new systems, too, the delay is understandable.
Still, while it is only a week-long delay, it would be hard to blameCall of Dutyfans for being a bit disappointed. The multiplayer content within Season 1 ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwill also release on December 16, ensuring that theChristmas version of Nuketownand battle pass arrive alongside theWarzoneintegration.
