Thanks to a post on the officialCall of DutyTwitter account, fans know that Lara Croft will be the next character to enter the battlefield. An image showing the iconicTomb Raiderprotagonist peering from a cave, looking over an active warzone with both pistols drawn was posted alongside the caption “Pistols ready. Prepared for drop in.” It’s currently not known when players will be able to access Lara Croft inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2orWarzone,but fans will no doubt be excited to see Lara Croft appear in any capacity.
The lastTomb Raiderwas back in 2018 and while Lara Croft did make a brief appearance inFortnitein 2021, the series has fallen into dormancy of late. This is in part due to Square Enix selling off the Crystal Dynamics studio to Embracer Group, but the studio has confirmeda newTomb Raidergame is in the worksand is being built on Unreal Engine 5.
With the new skins being added toWarzoneandModern Warfare 2, Activision is hoping to keep players occupied as it prepares to release the next game in the long-running franchise.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3was given a lengthy showcaseat the Gamescom Opening Night Live event and is set to bring a wealth of new features when it releases on November 10. This includes Open Combat Missions which lets players approach certain missions however they want, as well as an open-world Zombies mode.
