Call of Duty: Warzoneis no stranger to bugs, and while some are harmless, others have a major impact on gameplay. The latestCall of Duty: Warzoneglitch falls into the latter category, as it sees players being able to hit their foes through walls.

While this bug is frustrating, it is not surprising.Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 4update has brought a fair share of problems to the game. While it started with extra lag, giving players a poor experience due to connection issues, the list of problems has grown to include some major bugs. This includes trucks that allow players to teleport, a killer door, and a game-breaking exploit tied to the Red Door safe rooms. However, while some of these other glitches can be avoided, the melee issue is harder to predict.

ThisCall of Duty: Warzoneexploitwas captured by Redditor Babayaga20000, and it begins with the gamer playing as normal. Climbing up one of the buildings at Bloc 17, the player does a terrific job of gunning down their first opponent. Finishing them off via the window, things are going well for the Redditor. Unfortunately, they take a sudden turn once the player moves backwards. The downed player had a teammate hiding in the other room, and they had no issue making use of the melee exploit.

Redditor Babayaga20000 goes down, with their death seemingly being random. While it may have seemed like just another glitch, the slowness with which the player was killed makes it look like they are being melee’d. Sure enough,Call of Duty: Warzone’s Kali Sticksshow up on the kill feed, confirming that the player was hit through a wall — or more specifically, a rooftop. As they were getting hit, they attempted to back up on the roof. The damage followed them as they moved, though, confirming that they were being hit from below.

While commenter JKemmett does point out how funny it would have been to see the enemy hitting the ceiling, this bug is more annoying than humorous. If it continues to spread,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayerscould find themselves being killed through walls constantly, making the experience a lot less enjoyable. As of now, it is unclear if there is any way to counter the melee exploit, though players should flee from walls or roofs if they are taking random damage. It is also unknown if this cheat is exclusive to the Kali Sticks or can be performed with any melee weapon.

With an upcoming updateset to change Dead Silence, hopefully it will bring some bug fixes as well. If it does, this melee issue should be near the top of the list, as deaths like Babayaga20000’s could become a lot more common if nothing changes.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
