Activision’sCall of Duty: Warzonehas seen huge numbers since releasing, and the game’s developers have pushed out updates within that short window to help keep things fresh. Among the additions toWarzonein its recent update was anew item called the Armor Satchel, which allows players to hold up to eight pieces of armor. One fan of the game thinks there’s a simple UI adjustment that could make this increased carrying capacity more useful.
A Reddit user named Notifyd uploaded a photoshopped image showcasing his allies onWarzone’s heads-up display (HUD) with additional markers that indicate whether they are carrying important pieces of gear likegas masksthat keep players from dying for a short period if they wind up outside the map’s encroaching circle of toxic gas. They say this improvement would make it so they would not have to ask if their teammates have gear if they find extra pieces.

Since being uploaded to the r/CODWarzone subreddit yesterday, Notifyd’s post has received a fair amount of praise fromCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers for being a simple, smooth fix to combat. One Reddit user named Russian_repost_bot even says the developers could add “another layer of tactical thinking” by displaying what guns everyone on a team has so they could potentially choose new weapons for better team synergy.
Team synergy is important to consider when playing a mainly group-focused battle royale, and Notifyd’s concept would allow for quicker adjustments on the fly — though solo games would likely see next to no benefit. That said, with Activision and Infinity Ward addingsecret features like dropping weapons intoWarzone, there’s no reason why they couldn’t bolster those features further by allowing players to see what their teammates need more easily.
Weapon choice, in particular, is important to consider, especially while the developers are continually making improvements and nerfs. Infinity Ward recently confirmed it would beadjusting the Akimbo 357 Snake Shots and RPGsthat have generally been considered overpowered.
That said, not all of the additions toCall of Duty: Warzoneas of late have been purely mechanical. The game has also put a fair amount of focus on customizable skins such as one included in anew Pyromaniac Bundlein the store. Giving teams easier ways to work together while they are squadded up in similar designs would go a long way to helping the game retain a strong player base.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
