Call of Duty Weapon Does Significantly More Damage in Warzone 2 than Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer

One weapon reportedly deals more damage inCall of Duty: Warzone 2than in the multiplayer component ofModern Warfare 2. Like 2019’sModern WarfareandWarzone, both the newCall of Dutygames share an app, withWarzone 2available through the menus ofModern Warfare 2.

Like the rest of the series, gamers have access to a wide variety of guns and pieces of equipment inCall of Duty: Warzone 2andCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. These range from a usual selection of assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, pistols, and more, butsome weapons inModern Warfare 2are better than others. While balancing so many different weapons can be challenging, a new video shows that a particular gun deals more damage inWarzone 2when compared toModern Warfare 2multiplayer.

As reported by Dexerto, a YouTuber named TrueGameData has shared a video that compares the damage output of the X12 pistol, concluding that it deals around 40% more damage inWarzone 2than in a multiplayer match ofModern Warfare 2. TrueGameData mentioned going through the patch notes of arecentCall of Dutyupdateand decided to test out how much damage different guns do to enemies. The video shows that the X12 dishes out 41 damage to an opponent’s chest, as compared to 29 inModern Warfare 2. TrueGameData noticed a similar trend when comparing the X12’s damage output at different ranges, before proceeding to test out some other guns inCall of Duty: Warzone 2.

After trying out some other weapons, including the VEL 46, TAQ-56, and 556 ICARUS, TrueGameData concluded that the damage of these guns was exactly the same across both games. The M4 may be an exception, but TrueGameData was unable to get accurate data due to it being alive match ofWarzone 2. Even then, the difference for the M4 was only two points of damage, significantly less than the discrepancy showcased by the X12.

As the other guns do the same amount of damage in both games, it’s unclear if this difference is an intended design choice or simply abug inCall of Duty: Warzone 2. Activision is constantly releasing updates for the newCall of Dutygames, so this issue or glitch may get addressed whenever the next major patch comes out.
