Capcom releases a new teaser to hype up itsResident EvilShowcase, which is set to take place in October. TheResident Evilfranchise is one of the most well-established horror series in gaming, with multiple entries covering different sorts of themes and throwing all kinds of abominations at players to give them a fright. Currently, there are a couple of majorResident Evilprojects in the works, including the highly anticipatedDLC forResident Evil Villageand a remake ofResident Evil 4.The DLC and Gold Edition forResident Evil Villagewas first unveiled in June this year and will release in a few weeks on October 28. The remake ofResident Evil 4marks the latest in a building list of remasters of the classic titles in the franchise. Also revealed at the Capcom Showcase in June, there have been afew details released around theResident Evil 4remake, including that it will release on PS4, but much more information was promised by Capcom at an event dedicated to the horror franchise.RELATED:Resident Evil HD Mod Brings Back PS1-Style CharactersA specific date hasn’t been given on when theResident EvilShowcase will take place, but Capcom has stated that it will happen “soon.” In a new trailer posted to theResident EvilTwitter account, the caption reads that the clip gives only a “taste of what’s to come.” Beginning with a look atResident Evil Village, the 30-second clip doesn’t manage to cover much, but for those who are new to the final act of the Winters' saga, it gives a solid introduction.

The trailer does show off thethird-person perspective coming toResident Evil Villagein the Gold Edition and Shadows of Rose DLC. The third-person mode is a staple of manyResident Evilgames, but it proved tricky to implement inResident Evil Villageaccording to the game’s director. Alongside the new perspective, the Gold Edition will also bring some accessibility features previously unavailable in the game and of course the final act of the Winters' story in the Shadows of Rose DLC.

For anyone wanting a tease of theResident Evil 4remake, unfortunately they won’t find anything in Capcom’s recent teaser. However, with the promise that more information is coming soon, fans will likely get plenty of details on the upcoming game later this month. There’s also the potential for some surprise reveals at the showcase, including perhaps someinformation onResident Evil 9, a title that the internet has been speculating on ever since the announcement that Shadows of Rose would close the Winters' family saga.

Resident Evil Villageis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and theShadows of RoseDLC launches on May 31, 2025.
