Evolution cards have brought a fresh dynamic toClash Royale.With the addition of evolution, some of the “weaker” common cards receive massive buffs once placed onto the field after a certain number of times. Card evolutions not only give buffs to stats like health and damage, but they also give other abilities that can lead to devastating effects for the opponent.
Finding the evolution shards is not easy, however, and for the players who play the game for free, evolution shards may be hard to come by and should be used cautiously. While finding shards is not a small task, they provide huge returns for the players who find the required shards to evolve these troops.
How to Get Evolution Shards
Evolution Cards
There are nine evolution cards available with the release of the newest evolution for the Archers. Evolutions can be done once players collect six evolution shards and equip them with the card they want to evolve. Once unlocked, evolutions will always be available and need to be placed in the first slot of the deck, where an effect will take place, illuminating the card and indicating that the evolution of that card is active. The table below lists all currently available evolution cards available.
Deals increased damage to targets between 5 and 6.5 tiles
Increased HP replenishes health when attacking
Increased HP and damage: damage taken is reduced while moving
Can charge and has increased HP and damage
Deals area damage when attacking that pushes back enemy troops
Attacks release sparks onto the field that give area damage
When attacking, hit speed and movement speed increase
Evo Mortar
2 Cycles
Increased HP and increased hit speed, Goblin will spawn from Mortar strikes
Season Shop
The season shop is available, and every season can be used to purchase two evolution shards. One shard will allow players to choose the card they would like to apply the shard to, while the other will be predetermined for a specific troop. It will cost 6,000 season tokens for the Evolution Shard, allowing players to choose which card to apply it to, and 5,000 for a predetermined shard. The season shop is available for players at Level 8.
Pass Royale
Each season, The Pass Royale offers many perks, including evolution shards for the newest evolution release. Evolution Archers can be unlocked for Diamond Pass Royale holders that reach tier 13. Once Tier 13 has been achieved, 6 Archer evolution shards will be rewarded to the player. The diamond version of Pass Royale will cost players $11.99. Pass Royale is available at Level 7.
Shop Offers
Frequently,Clash Royalewill have offers available for purchase that are full of valuable items such as gold, gems, and even evolution shards. Currently, an offer for $3.99 includes 6 Mortar evolution shards, 1,000 Cannon cards, 400 Inferno Tower, 1,000 Mortar, and 1,000 Teslas. As of the writing of this guide, that deal will be live for 1 day and 16 hours. Shop offers frequently change, and returning players who haven’t been onClash Royalefor some time may even find exclusive welcome-back deals with massive value.
King’s Journey and Events
For the players that may not be able to spend money on the other methods. There are two different ways players may come across some free Evolution Shards. The first is Leveling up to 51, where they will receive an evolution shard.
Another shard will be given to players every 2nd level they achieve until they hit level 69, where currently, no further level will reward the player with free evolution shards.
With the amount of Evolution Shards available for free, players must keep up with the upcoming special events and deals that may give chances for more free shards as the game progresses.
