Crash Bandicootfans who have been hoping for the upcomingCrash Team Rumbleto launch on the Switch might have something to be excited about as Activision may have leaked a version for Nintendo’s portable console. The multiplayerparty gameis currently slated to launch on almost all other modern gaming platforms, leaving the Switch as the odd system out.
Crash Bandicoothas seen somewhat of a resurgence in recent years, with the remake of the originalCrash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogyand the launch ofCrash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Late last year, news ofCrash Team Rumbleemerged, putting players into the shoes of variousCrash Bandicootseries staple charactersin two teams of four to try and score the most Wumpa fruit. Unfortunately for fans of party games, the home ofSuper Mario Partyhasn’t shown any indication that the game will launch for the Switch, until now.

The leak was spotted on Activision’s website, though it’s not clear at this time if it’s a leak or a simple flub. On the Activision support page forCrash Team Rumble, the publisher suggested that players should keep their systems updated prior to installing the game. This advice was given for the confirmed PlayStation and Xbox releases, but also included directions on how to update one’s system on the Nintendo Switch, as well.
Shortly after the message was spotted by fans, the page was edited and the statement regarding the Switch version was removed. Unfortunately, without confirmation from Activision or Toys for Bob, there’s no way of knowing if this is a simple mistake, or if it’s prematurely referring to a future Nintendo Switch launch. Considering the game can run on the PS4 and Xbox One, it stands to reason that the Switch is probably powerful enough to play the game. Additionally, the Switch has seen the launch ofrecentCrash Bandicoottitles, so there’s an established playerbase that would likely be interested in the game, adding further reason to bring the game to the hybrid system.
For now, players will have to wait and see ifCrash makes a returnto the Nintendo Switch. While simultaneous launches - barring timed exclusivity releases - are quite common these days, some games do end up on the Switch later than Nintendo’s competitor consoles.Crash Team Rumble’s developers want to attract young and newer gamers, which would also fit well with the Nintendo Switch’s playerbase. Even if the game isn’t yet planned for the Switch, hopefully Activision and Toys for Bob notice the fans reacting excitedly to this and introduce a Switch version in the near future.
