With almost three months since the initial release ofCyberpunk 2077, the game is still far from being perfect and meeting everyone’s expectations. Thankfully, as is often the case, the player community has stepped in to provide some help. Although initially the game was not supposed to be open to modding, the decision to open it up for the community by CD Projekt Red was applauded.

Although the game hasn’t been out for long, there’s already quite a few amazing mods that completely change the game or tweak it just the right way to fix its most annoying details. Players looking for some quick fixes forrecurring bugsor just annoying features might want to take a look at these following mods on Nexus to improve their gameplay experience significantly.

10Better Minimap

The minimap of the game isn’t the worst aspect of its gameplay, but it could use a bit of work. Luckily, there’s nota mod called Better Minimap, which allows players to choose exactly what kind of features they’d like for their minimap.

Players can adjust the zoom on the minimap when on-foot or in a vehicle, as well as determine whether the map is fully transparent or opaque. The size can also be altered, so there’s something for everyone’s needs here, which should make navigatingto Night City’s hidden locationsway easier.

9Unlock Night City

One of the biggest criticisms of the game is that despite the size of the city, it still feels empty and lifeless. Part of it is being unable to access areas that are only open duringa specific side quest, after which they get locked behind impenetrable walls.

Cyberpunk 2077 night city areas unlocked

Thanks tothe Unlock Night City mod, all of the fan-favorite locations explored during some of the major missions can be revisited again. This is especially great for picking up any loot, taking cool photos, or just exploring the city’s details even more. Some locations include the Delamain HQ, Clouds and even Konpeki Tower.

8Annoy Me No More

There are a ton of incredibly annoying little features in the game that are driving fans crazy as of now. TheAnnoy Me No More modseeks to be a megafix for most of these, and to make V’s stay in Night City just a bit more bearable. This includes removing unnecessary animations like the mantis blade finishing move.

It also changes the way the police spawns. Next time V commits crimes, they won’t have the police quite literally spawn on top of their head. There are also some fixes to fall damage to make climbing and jumping around the city more enjoyable.

7Save Editor

The game is pretty huge, and there’s still the danger of quests and small details messing up. For that reason,a Save Editoris great not just for making changes after the fact, but also for fixing a save file that may have been messed up somehow.

The save editor also allows players to edit V incharacter creation, increase or decrease their level andstreet cred, and so on. The UI for the editor is very straightforward, so it’s great for non-modders as well.

6E To Interact And Other Changes

The key bindings have been slightly annoying in the game as well, from the game forcing F for interact instead of the classic E.This mod changes that binding back to E, and makes it much easier for V to walk slowly and drive slowly by pressing a dedicated key.

Best of all, dodge will no longer be bound to double-tapping WASD keys, which is perhaps the greatest frustration for most players. Instead, Left Control will now act as the primary way of dodging in combat, making things way easier and smoother. No more accidental dodging during fights.

5Alternate Crowd Behavior And Other Tweaks

For those who can afford to up their crowd density,a mod like Alternate Crowd Behavior And Other Tweaksis a great choice for bringing in some true realism into the game. Not only does it allow players to decide precisely when and how they want NPCs to spawn and despawn, it also changes traffic.

The mod allows for slightly more cars to be on the streets as well, which is only recommended for those with beefy PCs. Better yet, hostile NPCs can be tweaked to be a bit smarter about looking around for V, as well as pathing towards V in order to get inmelee combatrange.

4JB - Third-Person Perspective Mod

A mod list wouldn’t be complete without any mention ofthe infamous third-person perspective mod, which allows players to experience Night City from a third-person perspective. It’s definitely not a perfect mod, but it opens up the city in unexpected ways.

This is a great mod for anyone who was desperate for the game to be played from a classicThe Witcher 3style perspective, and for those who find it annoying they can’t admire their V’s flawless outfit and appearance at all times.

3Cyberpunk Autonomous Reshade - True HDR

Fans may have noticed that the game has a bizarre, almost green and yellow tint, and blurred out shadows. While graphically the game is good as it is, for those who really want to push for the best, thisAutonomous ReShade modis a dream come true to get rid of that strange sickening tint.

The city’s colors are much less warm and have a cold tint to them, and shadows will also appear much sharper. Darker colors are emphasized, which means Night City looks less washed out in general. There are several ReShades to choose from, depending on the player’s preferences.

2Arasaka Appearance Updater

Until players get a proper, in-game way to change their appearance easily, modders will have to respond to the demand. TheArasaka Appearance Changerwas one of the most popular mods when mods first started popping up, and for a good reason.

Finally, players can adjust their V’s appearance afterfirst loading into the gameand really getting a proper look at their character under the lighting of Night City. For photo mode enthusiasts in particular, this is a must-have mod.

1Better Vehicle Handling

Handlingvehicles in the gameis another major frustration many players have. The system doesn’t feel entirely smooth, which is why modders have once again come to the rescue. The Better Vehicle Handling modmakes driving a car and motorcycle in Night City a walk in the park.

Brakes will be more powerful now, which makes racing, in particular, a bit easier, but also traversing the city in general with a vehicle won’t be quite as annoying as before with cars that feel stiff and sluggish.
