Most of the gangs inCyberpunk 2077thrive in Night City because of its corruption. A lot of them find profit and power in this hellish city, almost considering it a paradise for people like them. The Mox, however, is different from the other gangs. This group formed out of retribution, vengeance, and compassion.

The Moxmay not be much of a threat, but they still shouldn’t be trifled with. They will always look out for one another, and their resilience may surprise those foolish enough to underestimate them. The Mox is one of the gangs the players will interact with the most in the game, but not that many people know everything about them that they should.
8Elizabeth Borden’s History
Elizabeth Borden (namedafter a woman tried for axe murders in 1892), was a prostitute in her earlier years. Later in life, however, she managed to own her own strip club called Lizzie’s Bar. Unlike most club owners, Lizzie was loving and protective of her workers. She always defended her prostitutes from violent clients, even if it meant losing their business.
At one point, one of Lizzie’s sex workers was abused and murdered byTyger Claw members. In retaliation, Lizzie killed the offenders with an axe and displayed their bodies in front of her club as a warning. Later that night, however, the Tyger Claws fought back, raided the club, and killed Elizabeth. Her death led to the creation of the Mox.
7How Elizabeth’s Death Formed The Mox
Although not the official founder of The Mox, Elizabeth’s death ultimately led to the foundation of the gang. Since Lizzie was loved by so many, her death caused a vast number of people to riot all over Night City. Tyger Claw members and establishments particularly took a hard hit during these riots.
Lizzie’s subordinates and other supporters eventually rebuilt Lizzie’s Bar. They formed their own gang, using Lizzie’s principles as their own. The Mox would protect sex workers and others who were threatened and oppressed, like Lizzie did when she was still alive.
6They’re The Youngest Gang In Night City
Most of the gangsthat run around in Night City in 2077 first originated decades ago. Some of themformed even before 2020, while others spawned around 2040. The Mox, however, only formed in 2067. With only 10 years in their sleeve by the time the game takes place, this makes The Mox the youngest gang in Night City.

Elizabeth Borden died on Jul 25, 2025. This day also marks the official foundation of The Mox gang, although their numbers wouldn’t grow until days later during the riots.
5They Mostly Keep To Themselves
Unlike the other gangs in Night City, the Mox doesn’t operate outside of their little bubble. They mostly work only in Lizzie’s Bar, which also serves as the gang’s headquarters.
The Mox doesn’t seek confrontation with other gangs and organizations unless they are provoked. Yet the Mox and the Tyger Claws, while not an open war with one another, still have tense relations. They may not seek out conflict, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t ready for it.
4They’re Beautiful And Deadly
The appearance of the Moxes in2077is a union of punkfashion and typical outfitsworn by Night City prostitutes. However, they always ensure their clothes don’t restrict movement. Most Moxes are equipped with cyberware that seems to be designed for pleasuring clients, but in reality, allows them to be more proficient and durable in combat.
“Sex and killing” is the Mox’s proud mantra. A lot of members even have tattoos that highlight this motto, although the writing is a little bit more explicit.
3They Offer A Protection Service
Unlike most gangs, the Mox doesn’t have a coherent hierarchy. However, they do have a definite leader. Susanna Quinn is the leader of the Moxes and the one who runs Lizzie’s Bar. Also known as Susie Q, she leads with an iron fist. Over the years, she has treated the gang’s work as a genuine business. Although the Mox started out as a gang that protected those in need, Susie has often demanded fees for their services.

Not everyone in the gang agrees with this approach, but Susie believes it is the best way to keep the gang and their business afloat. Despite this, she always welcomes those who seek refuge.
2The Story Behind The Logo
The logo of the Mox is very clear and straightforward. This logo is also tattooed on the skin of most Mox members, includingJudy Alvarez. Underneath the gang’s name in the logo is the Roman numeral for the number five and the number thirteen.
These numbers actually portray the death anniversary of Elizabeth Borden and the official birth of the Mox, May 13.
1Prior Assumptions
Unlike the other gangs in the game, the Mox didn’t appear in anyCyberpunktabletop gameprior to the release ofCyberpunk 2077.This makes the gang an original and new creation.
Before the game was released, the gang was originally named “The Lizzies” in promotional materials. This caused some to believe that the gang was the followers of Lizzy Wizzy, a popular celebrity singer in Night City.
