Summary

Cyberpunk 2077is full of Easter eggs, surprises, and hidden features or mechanics for players to find, but for one player, the ability to ride the rollercoaster in Pacifica went unnoticed until 700 hours in. The coaster is in a part ofCyberpunk 2077’s map that may go largely unexplored due to its brief role in the story, and the game is so expansive that missing certain things is somewhat inevitable.

Despite the game’s divisive launch, the world ofCyberpunkhas remained popular among fans, and last year’sPhantom LibertyDLC massively expanded the gamewith a new story campaign and a huge overhaul of the skill trees and the AI of various NPCs. The expansion brought a surge of new players to the game and was highly lauded by fans and critics alike, serving as the final major release for the title as the developers move on to developing a follow-up toCyberpunkand a fourth game in theWitcherseries.

Cyberpunk is Still Impressing Fans Four Years On

Despite the recent release ofthe last official update forCyberpunkfrom developer CD Projekt Red, the game still seemingly has a lot for players to discover, as they continue to experience things for the first time, even after hundreds of hours. Reddit user Earlchaos made a post on the r/cyberpunkgame subreddit detailing their discovery, stating that they only found out they could ride the rollercoaster in Night City’s rundown Pacifica district after 700 hours of playtime.

Some other fans chimed in to share their stories about the coaster and how they discovered it, with some stating that the coaster is fairly easy to miss if one doesn’t explicitly go out of their way to try to ride it. Others said that riding it was one of the first things they tried to do, since seeing such a large structure made them naturally curious, especially giventhe penchantCyberpunk 2077has for making its world feel lived-in and real.

However, players may be forgiven for missing the feature since it does not unlock automatically just by finding the rollercoaster, but instead comes after they repair it with a nearby control panel to get it up and running again. There is apparently even a side quest tied to the ride that tasks the player with doing exactly that, though it is seemingly never marked on the in-game map and appears at a yet-unknown point in the game, making it one of the manythings inCyberpunk 2077that often go unnoticed.
