Ever since they were first revealed,Cyberpunk 2077’s Mantis Blades have been an iconic part of the game. Now that it’s finally out, fans can actuallyget a pair of Mantis Blades for themselves, though they can be difficult or expensive to acquire. Thankfully, there’s a method that players can use to get them early on in the story, and as if that wasn’t good enough, they are also free.
Cyberpunk 2077is a big game, and there’s a whole lot to do in Night City, but players are given the freedom to choose how they want to explore it. Because of this, these Mantis Blades can be earned very early on, but players will first need to know where to look for them and be sure to employ a simple trick.

For those that may be less familiar with the item, Mantis Blades are a cybernetic enhancement that allow V to turn their arms into deadly blades. These items were first showcased in theCyberpunk 2077’s very first teaser trailer, and have since spiraled out of control in terms of popularity. Here’s how to get a pair in game.
The first thing players should do is head to theCity Center District and find Corpo Plaza. From here, players will notice a side job marker on the map in the northwestern corner of the area. Go to this location but be sure to manually save the game before entering the side job area, as this will be vital to ensuring the Mantis Blades spawn. Once inside, players can find a chest on the right hand wall immediately after entering, and this should have the Mantis Blades.
If the chest instead has something else in it, players can now reload their manual save as many times as necessary to get the Mantis Blades. Each time players reload, the contents of the chest will be randomly determined again, but this only works if the player saved before entering the building. After acquiring them, players will need togo to a Ripperdoc to get them installedso that they can then be equipped.
Thankfully, these weapons live up to the hype, as they are extremely powerful. The Mantis Blades scale with the V’s level, so players can rest easy knowing they won’t outgrow them. They alsodeal heavy critical and bleed damage, and will make melee encounters with certain enemies that much easier.
Cyberpunk 2077is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
