Cyberpunk 2077’s world may not have lived up to many fans' expectations, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to be found in Night City. Fans looking hard enough can findDeath Strandingcreator Hideo Kojima hanging out in a bar, and Elon Musk sort of makes an appearance as a background character. Little Easter eggs like these are a treat for fans to discover, and it looks likeCyberpunk 2077also includes a reference to the TV seriesMythbusters.

Mythbusterswas a popular show that revolved around testing myths and commonly held beliefs to see if there was any factual basis to the claims. The show was beloved by fans, and ran for 13 years with the original cast before a brief spin-off took over. The series was in the news last year due to thepassing ofMythbustersmainstay Grant Imahara. The show still holds a place in a lot of fans' hearts, so the nod inCyberpunk 2077is a fun Easter egg to stumble upon.

Unlike some other cameos inCyberpunk 2077, the Mythbusters connection is a little morbid, but its discovery has been well received by fans. Out in Rancho Coronado, in what appears to be a garbage dump, there are several discarded refrigerators. Inside one is a body belonging to a man named Steven Hurt, who bears some resemblance toMythbusters' Adam Savage, notably because of hisIndiana Jones' style fedora found at the scene. In a story shard found in the area, it explains that Hurt runs a TV show testing myths.

The myth that Hurt was testing relates to a scene fromIndiana Jones and the Crystal Skull,in which Indy hops into a refrigerator to protect himself from a nuclear blast. It seems that Hurt’s test did not go well, as the refrigerator was not enough to protect the man. The real Adam Savage is still alive and well, and made headlines recently for hisprop Leviathan Axe fromGod of War. The axe even caught the attention ofGod of WarCreative Director Cory Barlog.

Cyberpunk 2077still holds some secrets for fans to discover, and if CD Projekt Red can continue to deliver updates that improve the game, it might bring fans back after many were scorned by the initial release. The modding community has already put in some work to make the game more playable, and a recenttimelapse video ofCyberpunk 2077shows the potential of what could be. The myth that the game is a failure could still be busted one day.

Cyberpunk 2077is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases planned for 2021.
