Summary

Street vendors inCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertycarry valuable consumables that allow V to permanently buff some of their stats. This makes them much more useful than their counterparts in the base game and should consequently help playersbeatCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’schallenging campaign.

Outside of Dogtown, Night Cityvendors largely peddle some of the most uselessCyberpunk 2077items. Food and meds merchants are the most obvious examples of that trend, as their inventories predominantly consist of completely ineffective healing products which simply aren’t worth bothering with.

And while veteran players who are now getting into Phantom Liberty might hence instinctively want to steer clear of Dogtown merchants, doing so would be a mistake. As recently pointed out by Reddit user spudral, all food and meds vendors throughout the DLC neighborhood carry items that bestow permanent stat boosts upon V. The fandom has so far uncovered several such items, including the Dendritic Protoplasma Supplier and Military-Grade Lactic Acid Recyclers that permanently raise V’s rates of RAM and stamina recovery, respectively.

There’s also the Prototype Pseudoembryonic Cell Builder that increases the protagonist’s health pool by three points, as well as a Tier 4 progression shard that instantly adds 5,000 XP toward their next level-up. And though all of the newly added items bar the XP shard are labeled as Iconic Consumables, early player impressions suggest that none of them have to actually be consumed, with their buffs reportedly activating as soon as they land in V’s inventory. Phantom Liberty thus expands on the list ofconsumables thatCyberpunk 2077players should carry at all times.

Apart from the permanent stat boosts,Phantom Liberty also adds an amazing feature forCyberpunk 2077weapon collectorsthat allows players to purchase any missed Iconic armaments from Dogtown arms dealers. Furthermore, the expansion raises the RPG’s level cap from 50 to 60, thus providing players with extra Attribute and Perk points that will help them get even more powerful. Hitting the new level cap is highly recommended, as the DLC’s story pits V against some of the hardest-hitting and most resilient enemies in the game. And though level scaling allows all mobs to remain a challenge throughoutCyberpunk 2077, dealing with them still gets progressively easier as players unlock more combat options at higher levels.

Nevertheless, anyone who hasn’t yet completed the Pacifica storyline but wants to jump into theCyberpunk 2077expansion immediately can do so by starting a new game and picking the “skip ahead to Phantom Liberty” option from the following screen. This will provide them with a level 20 character and a fairly steep challenge, especially at higher difficulty levels.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertyis available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
