Summary

Dead by Daylight’sninth year of operation promises to be jam-packed with content, including a new game mode and multiple spin-off projects. While the eighth anniversary kicks off with the addition of a new killer -Dungeons and Dragons’Vecna - the celebrations don’t stop there. In addition, one spin-off project,What the Fog,has been released, while two more,Project TandThe Casting of Frank Stone, are in the works.

2v8 Is Less Competitive, “More Of A Party Mode”

As the name suggests,Dead by Daylight’snew “2v8 mode” sees eight survivors take on two killers, who are able to work together and use their abilities to benefit one another. The mode was described byDead by Daylightdesign director Matt Spriggens as having a less competitive focus and more of a fun, “party”-like atmosphere. The larger number of players encourages chaos, and survivors can choose classes and equipment rather than being limited to certainPerks, allowing them to specialize in offense, healing, stealth, and much more.

When the mode launches, most of the game’s survivors will be immediately available for players to select. Initially, there will be five killers to choose from: The Trapper, The Wraith, The Hillbilly, The Nurse, andThe Huntress. Larger versions of existing maps will also be implemented, allowing players to experiment with the new mode without feeling too trapped or crowded.
