Dead by Daylighthas been out for nearly six years. In that time, the gamehas added a number of eclectic survivor characters and killer characters that include original designs as well as adaptations from iconic horror franchises.Dead by Daylight’s live-service functionalityhas also had its fair share of issues, but continues to pump out abundant content in the meantime.

With nearly six years of development under its belt, Behaviour Interactive has had the time to finallyupdate the graphical fidelity ofDead by Daylight’s character models. In particular, Behaviour has touched up its survivor characters' facial features and hairstyles to better represent modern visuals. Some characters have been affected more than others with drastic appearance changes, but they ultimately reflectDead by Daylightin its contemporary state. Now,Dead by Daylighthas reworked its main visual key art to reflect these changes.

Dead by Daylight’s previous key art featured the Trapper, who is the game’s first killer character, as he looms in the back with original survivor characters Meg, Jake, Dwight, and Claudette in the forefront. The new key art is now more representative of the game’s current visuals, and also features four other original killer characters around the Trapper: Nurse, Huntress, Hag, and Wraith. Having this new key visual will help modernize the title and only portray its updated art when it is seen from now on.

While new key art may not necessarily be a wholesale rebranding for the game, it demonstrates thatDead by Daylightis looking ahead to what it can offer playersand wishes to be redefined in its modern visuals. It is clear that while killer characters from theatrical adaptations are important additions toDead by Daylight, Behaviour wishes to hold its original characters in the spotlight and showcase the more authentic side of its asymmetrical multiplayer title.

Further,Dead by Daylightintroduces new patches often and produces updates to push it forward at the same time as new characters are added in expansive DLC packs.Dead by Daylight’s Sadako Rising chapterwas released just recently, and certain perks have been re-enabled inDead by Daylight’s Update 5.6.1. The game’s sixth anniversary is set to make its mark this June, so it will be interesting to see what celebrations are shared in the summer, and what surprises will be debuted for the latter half of 2022.
