Summary
TheDeadpool and Wolverinetrailer already won fans over with its easter eggs and raunchy humor. Now, a talented fan has given fans another reason to revisit the Marvel Studios previews by creating a LEGO version of theDeadpool 3trailer.
Deadpool and Wolverinemarks the Merc with a Mouth’s (Ryan Reynolds) MCU debut and Hugh Jackman’s welcomed return as Logan. The firstDeadpool and Wolverinetrailermay have shown that Marvel Studios still has its mojo, but it still kept many elements under wraps, including the onscreen appearance of Jackman’s fan-favorite character.
Still, YouTuber and animatorJekesterhas given fans a reason to rewatch the trailer by skilfully creating the entire preview with LEGO characters. This is no amateur production, as Jekester has taken care to ensure even thesmallest details in theDeadpool and Wolverinetrailerare accurately recreated in the LEGO version, from the decorations in Wade Wilson’s home to theSecret Warscomic book easter egg in the final shot. Of course, Jekester also refrains from revealing the LEGO version of Jackman’s Wolverine, but the end of the video does feature a “Thanks for watching” image that includes a blurry version of the LEGO character in his yellow costume.
TheDeadpool and Wolverinetrailer’s LEGO makeover is undoubtedly on par with similar videos from other fans, including last year’sSpider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseLEGO trailer. It also demonstrates how much excitement there is for the long-awaitedDeadpool 3. After Disney acquired Fox and consequently gave Marvel Studios the screen rights to the X-Men and related characters, fans were curious to see if Deadpool would be folded into the MCU or jettisoned so Marvel Studios could restart with their version of the character. Fortunately, Marvel Studios decided to keep Reynolds' version of Deadpool and make the film R-rated, much to fans' delight.
Fans' concerns about Deadpool’s future after Disney acquired Fox weren’t unreasonable. The possibility of an R-ratedDeadpoolmovie was far from guaranteed considering Disney’s family-friendly image, andMarvel Studios’X-Menmovieis rumored to be taking a fresh approach by recasting characters. Fortunately, Reynolds' Deadpool will seemingly be folded into the MCU, though it remains to be seen if any other past X-Men actors will join him afterDeadpool and Wolverine.
Regardless, withX-Men ‘97practically here andDeadpool 3only four months away, fans are ready to get their mutant fix. Fun videos like theDeadpool and WolverineLEGO trailer only remind everyone that while Marvel Studios may have had a rough 2023 with box office bombs likeAnt-Man 3andThe Marvels, fans are still eager to see what the MCU has in store. Whether Marvel Studios’X-Mencontent can live up to the expectations, especially after such a long wait, remains to be seen. Still, there’s plenty of time for Marvel Studios to recover, and excitement for future projects is still palpable, so fans shouldn’t count the company out yet.
Deadpool and Wolverineis scheduled to be released in theaters on July 08, 2025.
