A newly-discovered glitch inDestiny 2allows players to easily farm Treasure Coordinates without spending any additional resources.Destiny 2’s latest season, Season of Plunder, brings with it a plethora of new currencies, with Treasure Coordinates being a resource used to slot Treasure Maps and earn additional rewards at the end of Expeditions. So far in the Season of Plunder, players have turned mostly to the new Expedition and Ketchcrash activities in search of new seasonal gear, weapons, Umbral Energy, and other sorts ofpirate-themed loot from the current season inDestiny 2. The addition of the new Captain’s Atlas seasonal item allows Guardians to use a variety of different Treasure Maps to further their gains from Expedition activities whether it be Glimmer or gear, and has provided one of the few reliable methods of farming Deepsight weapons from the new season.RELATED:Destiny 2 Making Great Change for Deepsight Season of Plunder WeaponsA recent post from Twitter user @SivaTechFromXB provides a demonstration of a new exploit in action. Switching between the Rotating Expedition Armor Map andPlundered Umbral Energy Map in the Captain’s Atlasnot only fully refunds the resources spent on slotting the map, but also grants players a moderate amount of extra Treasure Coordinates. This can seemingly be repeated as many times as players want, allowing for what is effectively an infinite supply of free Coordinates. Although Bungie hasn’t yet commented on the bug, it has been seen circulating through posts from the community on Reddit, Twitter and YouTube over the past couple of weeks.

Treasure Coordinates themselves are intended to be acquired from playlist activities throughout the game, both seasonal and otherwise. Strikes, Crucible matches and Gambit games typically drop around 40 Coordinates per completion, though these gains can be improved by wearing pieces of the Ketchkiller armorintroduced with Season of Plunder, granting an additional 5% bonus to Treasure Coordinates earned per piece of armor equipped. Even with this bonus, what should take hours is being done in minutes thanks to the exploit that players are now making use of.

While a handful of players are struggling to replicate the glitch, it seems that the majority of players in the know have been quick to fill their inventories with Treasure Coordinates out of fear that Bungie will patch the issue at some point in the coming weeks. For now at least, Guardians are enjoying the opportunity to save themselves a lot of time, and the abundance of Treasure Coordinates is allowing them tofarm for seasonal Deepsight weaponsvia Expeditions faster than ever before.

Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
