AlthoughDestiny 2players expectedtoday’s live event to startaround 4pm PT, it appears that some technical issues have delayed its activation. Connection errors and long queue times are standing in the way of players even logging intoDestiny 2, let alone seeing what Bungie has prepared for the end of Season of Arrivals.
Bungie has acknowledged that there are issues and the developers are working on a fix (or fixes).Destiny 2and Bungie community manager Cozmo says that the studio has its “top people” on the task of making sure everything gets back on track.

As of now, there is no idea when the end of season event forDestiny 2might start, but there is a 24-hour maintenance downtime planned for later tonight. The servers are supposed to go down for the game while Bungie prepares for thelaunch of Beyond Lighttomorrow. In other words, the devs have somewhat of a ticking clock working against them.
Currently, players are experiencing a number of issues when it comes to accessing the live event. The most common is a long queue time wherein players are put into a virtual place in time and then they will be let into the game in order. Unfortunately, the queues don’t seem to be moving at a decent pace and even then there are more issues waiting on the other side of the line.
Destiny 2is also experiencing connection issues that generate a number oferror codes (from Weasel to Newt), which can kick players back into orbit or even all the way back to the login screen. So while some might take comfort in the fact that they made it through the queue, the worst is not necessarily behind them.
Even those players who are able to get intoDestiny 2and load into The Tower are greeted with continuous “Contacting Destiny Servers” alerts, suggesting that the stability of their connection is not optimal. Plenty of players have reported that they can’t remain in the Tower for too long before they are botted back to the Destination map. From there, it becomes a new challenge in trying to get back into The Tower.
There is clearly a lot of excitement surrounding the live event and what might occur. Speculation has covered everything fromthe Traveler healingto the Darkness ships destroying a planet. Unfortunately, the road to experiencing the live event has been paved with some obstacles.
