Destiny 2players are asking Bungie to alter the Ritual Activity streak to apply to all modes so that specific Vanguard, Gambit or Crucible streaks don’t get lost due to completing various nodes on the new Pathfinder mechanic. The week that many have been waiting for finally arrived with The FInal Shape expansion launching forDestiny 2. As expected, players head into The Traveler to put an end to The Witness and its aim to reshape the universe into a nightmare, while at the same time, earning plenty of new gear and utilizing the Prismatic subclass to customize their character to an extreme degree.
For many, one of the biggest mechanical changes toDestiny 2was the removal of ritual playlist bounties, a staple of the franchise originally established in the first game. Each day, players could visit Shaxx, Zavala, or The Drifter to claim new bounties, which would rewared XP as well as vendor progress. However, these bounties were replaced by the newDestiny 2mechanic known as Pathfinder, which Bungie intended to give players more choice as to what activities to play each week, while offering rewards and XP for finishing various challenges. While there are many supporters of this new feature, some feel it could be improved by a few tweaks.
Since the release of The Final Shape expansion, players have been interacting with Pathfinder, which has been added for the Pale Heart destination as well as for ritual activities. For the Pale Heart, players can visit different areas of the map and complete tasks and challenges to complete the nodes, earning XP, gear, as well as new forms of theexotic sword called Ergo Sum. For Ritual Activities, the nodes are largely mixed and can sometimes force players to check out different activities in order to connect the paths.
What Change Destiny 2 Players Are Asking For
Unfortunately, this form of activity switching has brought up a few problems for some players. In particular, partaking in consecutive matches rewards a streak bonus to players, allowing them to accumulate ranks much faster, though switching to a different activity reduces those bonuses, which seems at odds with the spirit of thenewly added Pathfinder mechanic. Some in theDestiny 2community want to see Bungie change the activity streak bonus to apply across all modes instead of specific ones like Crucible, while others would rather streak bonuses be done away with in favor of adjusting the reputation gain rate.
While the Pathfinder mechanic may not have been a home run with allDestiny 2players, The Final Shape has certainly resonated with the majority of players. In addition to a climactic battle with The Witness, thePale Heart destination inDestiny 2offers players a substantial number of things to see and do once the campaign comes to a close. Region chests and lost sectors make their return, but players can also take on new missions, activities, while continuing to unlock additional Prismatic aspects and fragments, across a variety of biomes and visual identities.
