Whether it’s a box laying in the open world or a reward from exciting puzzles, chest hunting remains one of the most nostalgic activities in the game. Previously, many thought that these crates would respawn after some time. However, now the fact is more commonly known. Therefore, this article is now updated to include accurate information.
Do Chests Respawn in Genshin Impact?
Shortly, no.The chests inGenshin Impactdon’t respawn. Instead, new ones may be added along with new game versions. All chests in the open world are available as soon as playersstart the game. For completionists, they can use the Interactive Map to keep track of their progress.
Where To Find Chests In Genshin Impact
As ofGenshin Impact2.2, there are now five types of boxes in the game. Common Chest is the most common of the five, while Luxurious Chest is the most valuable:

Common ChestsandExquisite Chestsare commonly found in the open world and as a reward for simple puzzles or following Seelies.
Common Chestsare mostly made of wood with a rounded top and are held together with common metal. When opening them, they can provide up to 2Primogems, 10-20 Adventure Experience, 1-3 Sigils, Mora, and Weapon Enhancement, Talent Level-Up, or Character EXP Materials. Weapons and Artifacts can also drop from Common Chests, although they will be limited to rarity levels of 1 and 2 stars.
Exquisite Chestsare a bit rarer and will likely require players to perform some kind of action before opening them. They are also made of wood but have a squared top. These chests have mostly the same rewards as a common chest but can also provide an additional 2-5 Primogems, 20-to-30 Adventure Experience to help raise a player’sAdventure Rank inGenshin Impact, 3-4 Sigils, Mora, and Materials. Weapons and artifacts can also drop from these chests, including 3-star items.
Precious Chestsusually require Travelers to finish complex quests and puzzles, although not exclusively, and they are wooden chests with gold. These chests can reward up to 10 Primogems, 30 Adventure Experience, 4-10 Sigils, Materials, Weapons, and Artifacts.
Just like the Precious ones,Luxurious Chestsalso spawn afterfinishing complicated quests and puzzles. They’re also obtainable from theShrine of Depths, a building that grants large Primogems rewards.
In every region, there are 10 Shrine of Depths to open. Each of them yields 40 Primogems. So across the three regions, players can get a total of 1200 Primogems.
As forRemarkable Chests, they’reonly obtainable in Tsurumi Island. Unlike the other types, these crates only reward one furnishing blueprint. Furthermore, this new box also appears in some older chest spots, giving the impression of a respawning chest.
