There are a couple of different Death Sorceries inElden Ring, and these types of spells can be boosted by equipping the Prince of Death’s Staff. One of these Death Sorceries is calledAncient Death Rancor, and this guide will go over where to find it and explain what it does.
Unfortunately, to obtain the Ancient Death Rancor spell, players won’t find it in a chest or just lying on the ground somewhere –they’ll need to take down a semi-tough mini-boss in Liurnia of the Lakes. This region in the Lands Between is north of Limgrave, and players should be able to reach it after defeating one of the main bosses,Margit.

Where to Find Ancient Death Rancor
Elden Ringplayers should head to the Gate Town North Site of Lost Grace, east of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. If players look at the image below, they’ll see the site, along with a red circle just south of it.
Walking a few steps south from theSite of Lost Gracewill bring players face to face with a mini-boss called the Death Rite Bird. However, it will only spawn during the night.
How to Change the Time
To make the Death Rite Bird appear, go to the nearby lost grace site, and then choose the option that says “pass time.” Change it to nighttime, and then check the area south of the save point to see if the bird spawns. If it doesn’t appear after walking around for a minute, change the time of day again, and then fast travel to the Gate Town North Site of Lost Grace.
If players are struggling to take down the Death Rite Bird atLiurnia of the Lakes, keep in mind that it’s susceptible to Scarlet Rot, and it’s weak to Holy and Strike damage.
