When you find a painting inElden Ringtake note of any special landmarks or coloration first - theRedmane Paintingdepicts Redmane Castle beyond a crimson plain and beneath a blood red sky, which screams Caelid. The Ruins in the foreground are a dead giveaway of the solution, but to get there, you’ll need to sharpen up yourElden Ringparkour skills.
Look For The Painting Behind Rubble In Sellia
Sellia, Town of Sorcery, is a location in central Caelid northeast of the Swamp of Aeonia and just south of Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow. The easiest way to get here is to take the Teleporter Trap in the Dragon-Burnt Ruins of Limgrave,which leads to Sellia Crystal Tunnelbeneath the town. Be careful when exploring the settlement, as there are lots of invisible NPCs with fast casts.
Beneath an outcropping of a building, semi-buried behind a pile of bricks and a collapsed roof, is the Redmane Painting. It’s hard to see when running through the town at top speed on Torrent, so it’s a good idea to take it slow, fight a few enemies at a time to clear out all threats, and search for the painting when you’re sure you won’t be disturbed by a rogueGlintstone Pebble.
Solution To Redmane Painting Puzzle
Once you have the Redmane Painting in your inventory it can be referenced in the same tab that holds your notes and gameplay tips. You will have to leave the lower portion of Caelid and head to Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow to find the original artist. The easiest way to get here is to progress D’s questline until he introduces you to theBeast Clergyman at the Bestial Sanctumin the northern part of the zone. Head south past the Farum Greatbridge and past the dragon until you reach Lenne’s Rise, a sorcerer’s tower jutting out in the distance.
Take the spiritspring to the cliffs above and head east until you just about pass the Minor Erdtree. Look along the cliff’s edge, you’ll see a set of branches leading downward to an outcropping and a sleeping Golem. Drop down to the highest point of the largest branch closest to the edgeand carefully jump downthe branches and columns until you reach the bottom - some parts are actually easier with Torrent, but remember that it’s sometimes better to dismiss Torrent and re-summon to re-orient yourself in tight areas. At the bottom there is a ledge leaning over the edge before the sleeping Golem. Line up the Redmane Painting with your location and eventually a spirit artist will appear.
