AnElden Ringplayer found themselves blessed with beginner’s luck during their first ever invasion, surviving an ambush which would typically guarantee death.Elden RingPvP has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance recently, with FromSoftware releasing two consecutive updates which introduced the most significant alteration to multiplayer fundamentals since launch.
There exist a few locations inElden Ringthat have been adopted by the PvP community to host confrontations, duels, and just slaughter each other, with emotes of respect sprinkled on top.Often inside or near Legacy Dungeons, such as next to the lift into Raya Lucaria Academy, these areas became PvP hubs due, in part, toElden Ring’s colossal size. Just how vast the Lands Between is meant that finding opportunities to invade or be summoned could be limited, and a few concentrated regions were better for PvP to not grow stagnant.

In a video uploaded to Reddit by u/nmpineda60, the invader is seen running toward aninfamous lift that can be found in Volcano Manor. The lift is rising as the invader closes in, the host and their summon carried up with it, so the invader patiently waits for the other lift to come down. A few seconds pass as the invader follows the host, only to be greeted by both enemies, who had prepared an ambush, as the lift becomes level with the platform above.
Seemingly unfazed, the invader perfectly times a jump to evade thefurled finger’s use of the Dark Moon Greatsword skill, which also causes the host’s Bloody Slash to miss. Dual wielding Greatswords, the proceeding flurry of attacks is too much for the failed ambushers to bear, who are both thoroughly Vigor checked by only three swings. An apt Fire Spur Me emote is then performed by the invader in celebration of the fortunate victory. Comments were convinced that the invader’s prey would either hilariously be on the other lift coming back down, or be prepared to obliterate their pursuer.
Elden RingPvP players have adored making use of the gravity magicfound throughout the Lands Between, with Radahn’s Starscourge Greatsword a notable weapon capable of dragging foes off of ledges. Had the host or their ally been equipped with this Colossal Sword then the invader would likely have not been so fortunate. Gravity magic, as well as the majority of skill, incantations, and sorceries were recently improved withElden Ring’s most recent update, making it the perfect time to return and enjoy forcing enemies off the edge.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
