Radroaches have been prominently featured in theFalloutuniverse since the release ofFallout Tacticsin 2001 and each subsequent title has had the enlarged bug, including the modernFallout 4andFallout 76. OneFallout 4player has shared their first encounter with an enormous Radroach after playing the game for a whopping 2,000 hours.

Reddit user Jake3245 recently posted a clip in which they’re trying to access the Overseer’s terminal in the earlyFallout 4location of Vault 111. Given that theFallout 4video takes place in the first Vault, Jake3245’s clip could have taken place at any moment in their save, though they seem to have some skill points beyond the introductory stats. There are many reasonsFallout 4players have to return to Vault 111 beyond exploration as it also has hidden loot like the Cryolator andRed Menaceminigame for the Pip-Boy and environmental storytelling that may have gone unnoticed during an initial playthrough.

Jake3245Fallout 4video starts with the player opening the evacuation tunnel through theVault Overseerterminal before pulling out a 10mm pistol to fend off any enemies along the way. As the player enters the tunnel, they see one ofFallout 4’s anomalies as an enormous Radroach that Jake3245 has dubbed a “Roach of unusual size” is scaling the Vault 111 wall. Jake3245 immediately aims at the large Radroach and takes a shot at it before it jumps from the wall and starts running towards theFallout 4player as a normal-sized Radroach would.

According to Jake3245, a fewFallout 4mods are active on their save such as Zombie Apocalypse, Unique Wasteland Experience, and No Humans + Unlocked Map, but the player noted a mod doesn’t seem to be affecting the size of the Radroach. Jake3245 is also playingFallout 4in Survival modewhich does impact the spawn rate of Legendary enemies and loot and could be the cause of such a gigantic Radroach spawning in the tutorial Vault.Fallout 4Survival players have more reasons to return to Vault 111 than standardFallout 4players as the water fountain can be used to fill any empty bottle with Purified Water and there are many Stimpaks to loot as well.

Given that it has taken Jake3245 about 2,000 hours ofFallout 4gameplay to see this abnormally sized Radroach, it’s likely that many players won’t even encounter one. SomeFallout 4fans have quickly noted that Jake3245’s video takes place in Vault 111 with the title expressing that he had put 2,000 hours into the game, some suggesting that the player has spent all that time in the Vault. While manyFallout 4players have noted that they’ve never seen such massive Radroaches in their gameplay, others have highlighted locations that may have one like the Gauntlet in theNuka World DLCor near Poseidon Energy.

Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
