The post-apocalyptic setting ofFar Cry: New Dawnprovides someinteresting weapons for players to craft. Gamers can create a total of 22Elite weapons inNew Dawn, each of which will require a ton of scarce materials. Players that want to dominate in PVE need to get their hands on epic gear.

While each of these epic weapons is good, a few stand above the rest. There are also a couple of rank three guns that make it into the top tier. This guide will cover the top tenweapons to use inNew Dawn, as well as the materials needed to craft them.

Most of the weapons will need to be crafted, but a few can be purchased from the store with credits. The upgraded or “Elite” versions of each weapon have buffed stats and often add an intrinsic trait to the weapon. Elite weapons also haveimproved aesthetics. For example, the Saw Launcher V.T. skin shoots out guided boomerang saws.
This updated list will cover the15 best guns inNew Dawn. In addition, the list will include different variants of the Elite versions of each weapon. Most of the skins are merely cosmetic changes, which can be purchased at the store without the need to gather resources. However, there are two distinct types of Saw Launchers. The advantages and disadvantages of each weapon are discussed in detail below.
15A.J.M.9 “Blood Dragon”
Players will have a blast using this fully auto pistol. It is strictly a close-range gun but does a massive amount of damage in less than a second. The A.J.M.9 will take out bad guys in an instant. There are a few issues with the gun, however. It only has 18 rounds per clip, and is essentially useless beyond a few meters. Still, it is a really enjoyable weapon to use, and it performs very well at point blank range. Craft it using:
14M-16 “Giant Tool”
The M-16 has a faster fire rate than the AK-MS, but it only deals 100 damage per bullet. It is a solid weapon with controllable recoil that can be used at almost any range. Even though it can be outclassed by the AK, it is still a lot of fun to use.

A fast fire rate makes it more forgiving and easier to use than other fully auto weapons. The main downside to using the gun is the small 30 round magazine. Players will burn through ammunition way too quickly when using the AR. Here’s what players need to craft it:
13AR-C “Rock-Paper-Scissors”
Almost everyone will agree that the AR-C is the best-looking AR in the game. It looks cool and is sort of the hybrid between the M-16 and AK-MS. It does more damage than the M-16, but less than the AK. Both the M-16 and AR-C have the same fire rate, which makes the AR-C slightly better due to a higher damage output. The AK may be better, but the AR-C is more forgiving. Craft it with:
12D50 “DIY”
An upgraded D50 will kill most enemies with one shot to the head. The gun has a 10 round magazine, which means players can theoretically get 10 kills per clip. Rank three enemies can be taken down with the D50 in just two chest shots. Even elite enemies will fall if hit by three D50 shots to the chest.

The weapon has a clean optic and reticle and is one of the most dominant weapons in the game. Gamers can use the D50 like a shotgun or snipe enemies from miles away. Here’s what players need to craft it:
11P08 “It’s A Tarp”
The P08 is a classicFar Cryweapon, with a slow fire rate and high damage. It fires faster than the D50, and dishes out more damage than the A.J.M.9. While the P08 may not be the most powerful weapon in the game, it is a versatile option that can take down most high-level enemies. Gamers can even use the pistol at extended ranges. It has the accuracy and damage needed to be a reliable weapon inNew Dawn. Use the following to craft it:
10SA-50 “Length Of Pipe”
Gamers that prefer to take down enemies from distance should be using the SA-50. The sniper is by far the most effective long-distance weapon inNew Dawn. Even better, the gun is suppressed. Players can wipe entire camps with just one clip while using the SA-50. Unlike the other snipers in the game, the SA-50 is not a bolt action rifle. It has the same damage output and range as the MBP .50, but with a faster fire rate. Craft it with these materials:
The “Space Force” SA-50 is the alternative variant of the weapon. The second skin certainly looks cleaner than the “Length of Pipe” variant. It can be crafted with the same materials, or purchased for 600 creds.
9RAT4
The rank three launcher is essentially a mortar strike packed into one rocket. The RAT4 is an incredible weapon to use when taking out vehicles, as well as attacking multiple enemies in a confined space. This gun goes boom, and that is all players need to know. It can be crafted with the items below:
8SPAS-12 “Spraypaint and Pray”
The SPAS-12 is a semi-automatic suppressed shotgun with an eight-round magazine. The weapon absolutely obliterates enemies at close ranges. With high damage and sound suppression, it is a must-have for players that like to sneak attack enemy camps from close ranges. The shotgun also has one of the best scopes in the game. Players will need the following materials to craft the gun:
7MG-42 “Blunderbuss”
The MG-42 is one of the loudest and also one of the most satisfyingweapons to use inFar CryNew Dawn. The weapon’s large clip, high damage, and insane fire rate make it one of the top options in the game. However, the reload add time is horrendous. It is definitely one of the most fun and useful weapons to use in the apocalypse. Gamers will need the following items to craft it:
6D2 “Such A Boar”
The D2 is unique because it has one of the highest damage outputs in the game and it is a sidearm. Players can pair this weapon with a medium to long-range primary and melt enemies from any range.

As a double-barreled shotgun, it will only have two bullets per magazine. Still, the weapon will do a lot of damage and it will not take up the main weapon slot. The epic shotgun is crafted by using the four items below:
