With Juventus' decade of dominance having finally come to an end, Serie A has once again become one of the most entertaining leagues in Europe. Any one of Milan, Inter, Atalanta, Lazio, Roma, Udinese, Napoli, and the old lady could win the title this season, such is the wide array of talent that’s spread across the league. This makes it a solid choice forFIFA 23players who are looking to build a competitive side inthis year’s Ultimate Team game mode.

Despite Italian football having a reputation for being slow-paced, there are plenty of speedsters plying their trade in the country’s top flight. The lack of star names may be a little offputting to someFIFA 23players, but this also means that many of the division’s best players are available for incredibly reasonable prices. The best Serie A builds for FUT 23 can take advantage of this, allowing them to compete with the very best for only a fraction of the price.
Updated Jun 22, 2025, by Tom Bowen:The 2022-23 season has been an unusual one for football fans so far, particularly those in Italy. As well as having had to sit through a mid-season World Cup for which the Azzurri failed to qualify, they’ve also borne witness to one of the most shocking and unpredictable Serie A campaigns in recent years. At the time of writing, Napoli sit nine points clear at the top of the table, with most bookies having them down as odds-on favorites to win the title. Unsurprisingly, the team’s excellent performances have led to many Napoli players receiving special promotional cards in FIFA 23, which has in turn led to a lot of price changes elsewhere. The best Serie A builds in FUT 23 remain largely the same, though those looking to build a true ultimate team can now do so if they have enough coins at their disposal.
All of the teams below have full chemistry in-game, though asFIFA 23doesn’t allow players to alter the positions of concept cards, the images below may not reflect this. Players might need to use consumable items to change certain players' positions, while the prices provided are all subject to change. All three squad suggestions will use the 4-3-3 formation as this is one of the more popular formations in the FUT game mode.

Victor Osimhen
With 45 goals in his last 90 appearances for club and country at the time of writing (a record that’s comparable to some ofthe best strikers inFIFA 23), there’s perhaps an argument to be made that Napoli forwardVictor Osimhendeserves a lot more than his 83 rating. This does mean that he can be snapped up for as little as 1,600 coins though, which, for a player with 90 pace and 82 shooting, is an absolute steal. The same could perhaps be said ofJonathan Ikoné, who, with 89 pace and 83 dribbling, is an excellent shout at right wing, particularly at just 550 coins.

The rest of this budget Serie A FUT team is solid, albeit unspectacular, with the back four all boasting pace of 80 or higher and the midfield trio all rated at 82 or above. There’s certainly room for improvement, but players likeSergiño DestandPiotr Zielinskican hold their own against some of the league’s very best talents, making them excellent options for those building aSerie A starter squad.

With 155 league goals in just 216 appearances over the past six seasons, to say thatCiro Immobile’s time with Lazio has been fruitful would perhaps be a bit of an understatement. He’s a little slower than Osimhen, but offers improvements in just about every other area and so is a more than solid upgrade. Behind him,Sergej Milinkovic-SavicandPaul Pogbaare two of Serie A’shighest-rated central midfieldersand can be signed without players needing to break the bank.

Juventus defenderBremeris something of a luxury signing, particularly as he’ll likely need to be replaced if the team is going to be able to compete against the very best in FUT. With this in mind, players may be better served saving their coins until they have enough for one of the division’stop-tier center backsinstead. Of course, that’s not to say that he doesn’t still offer a noticeable improvement over both Kalulu and Kim Min Jae in the short term.

It’s all change at the back, withWojciech Szczesnyreplacing Onana between the sticks andLeonardo Spinazzola,Milan Skriniar,Fikayo Tomori, andJuan Cuadradocompleting the back five. Both full backs have 90+ pace and a high dribbling stat, while Tomori is the fastest center back in Serie A, allowing him to deal with eventhe paciest of attacking players. That’s assuming they can even get pastNicolò Barella, who, like Milinkovic-Savic, is an absolute beast in midfield.

The cherries on the top of this tantalizing team come in the shape ofRafael Leão’s in-form card and Napoli manHirving Lozano’s World Cup Path to Glory card. Both of thesetalented wingershave 90+ pace and are able to back this up with high dribbling and passing stats. Their finishing isn’t too bad either, allowing them to cut inside and chip in with a few extra goals in the event that Immobile (who players should upgrade to his 87-rated in-form card) isn’t pulling his weight.

Victor Osimhenhas been an absolute revelation this season and one of Napoli’s standout players. With this in mind, his second in-form card seems like an absolute bargain at just over 30k, especially given how pacey it is. While on the subject of speed,Jonathan Ikoné’s Conference League card is absolutely rapid, offering 97 Pace for just 22,000 coins. Over on the opposite flank,Ante Rebic’s 87-rated FUT Centurians card is no slouch either. It boasts 93 Pace and can be picked up for around 26,000 coins.

With the exception ofWojciech Szczesny’s FUT Centurians card, the best Bundesliga team inFIFA 23is incredibly expensive to assemble.Milinkovic-SavicandMarcelo Brozovic’s World Cup Path to Glory cards aren’t too overpriced in the grand scheme of things, but the rest will cost players over a quarter of a million coins each. Players can save themselves almost two million coins simply by switching outZlatan Ibrahimovic’s FUT Centurians card for World Cup Phenoms Rafael Leão, but although the latter actually has a slightly higher overall rating, many will feel that this OP version of Ibra is just too much of a beast to pass up on.
FIFA 23is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
