Nintendo releasedFire Emblem Warriorsback in 2017, and it’s revisiting the Musou spin-off series withFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.Three Hopesfollows characters fromFire Emblem: Three Houses, and it’s being developed by the same team that did the prequel, Omega Force.

During the recent Nintendo Direct, Koei Tecmo joined the lineup by unveiling the nextFire Emblemtitle,Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes,a sequel toFire Emblem Warriors. The trailer begins with two armies clashing on the battlefield before closing in onFire Emblem: Three Housesprotagonist andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatefighter, Byleth. The video then proceeds to show off Musou combat familiar to Omega Force games, focusing on three playable characters in the game and how they will fight off the waves of enemies also expected from Musou games.

The playableFire Emblem: Three Housescharacters featured in theFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopestrailer are Dimitri, Edelgard, and Claude, and each have their own combat style. The three protagonists are heroes thatFire Emblem: Three Housesfans have learned about, and they represent the Blue Lions, Black Eagles, and Golden Deer, respectively. Although theFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopestrailer teasesFire Emblemhero Bylethas another playable character, the character doesn’t get a proper gameplay reveal like the others.

TheFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopestrailer portrays Edelgard swirling enemies up in a conjured tornado, Dimitri slashing and rapidly striking foes with his lance, and Claude taking to the sky to unload a flurry of arrows at those who seek to defeat him in battle.Koei Tecmoteases a parchment map during the trailer, taking players from one stage to the next as the key characters unveil plot details. Although the originalFire Emblems Warriorstitle saw frame rate dips in intense combat, the combat showed off during the Nintendo Direct trailer appeared to perform well.

Some additional characters fromFire Emblem: Three Housesshown during theNintendo Directtrailer that may play an important role inFire Emblem: Three Hopesinclude Baron Dominic, Hubert, Ingrid, and Monica. These characters also come from different houses inFire Emblem: Three Houses, suggesting that the three groups will continue to interact inThree Hopes. While theFire Emblem: Three Hopestrailer revealed some of the characters thatFire Emblemfans can expect, it may have several more familiar faces waiting to uncover.
