This season ofFortniteis all about secrets:secret passages, secret lairs, and now a secret challenge. While the challenge isn’t listed anywhere, it offers up a very real 40k XP for anyone who can figure it out. All players have to do is interact with some gnomes with telescopes in the Weeping Woods.
The Gnomes
Along with the otherFortnitechanges for the week of April 4th, 2020, Epic games slipped some gnomes with telescopes onto the map this week. They are all located around the western part of the Weeping Woods. This quest is part of an ongoing story line to help the bears and gnomes of the Weeping Woods wage war on one another. Or maybe they are teaming up for a war against someone else? It’s a little difficult to tell, but those gnomes are definitely spying on someone. All players need to do is help the gnomes calibrate and properly aim their telescopes to spy on their enemies.

There are a total of five gnomes on theFortnitemap right now, and the secret mission requires that players interact with each of them to grab the 40,000 XP. It appears that players don’t have to interact with all of them during a single match, thankfully, so players can take their time and not worry if they get shot. Thankfully, players don’t have to worry about getting blown up withglitching explosives;Fortnitehas removed them from the game after the glitch was found.
Gnome Locations
There are several steps to getting this secret quest complete. If theTed Offensive Honey Jar Challengefrom last week wasn’t completed, players will have to finish that first. As players are exiting the secret cabin hideout of the bears, they should run into at least one of the gnomes, who have the place surrounded.
Once the Honey Jars are all found, players can then help the gnomes. There isn’t a specific order that these have to be interacted with, so just grab whatever one comes into view first. While wandering around in the Woods, verify to watch out for other players andteleporting botstoo.
