Fortniteplayers discover that one of Chapter 4 Season 2’s new weapons, the Havoc Pump Shotgun, is capable of one-shotting opponents. Each season ofFortniteintroduces a variety of new content while cycling out parts of the previous season. Weapons are one form of content that Epic Games loves to vault and unvault, with new guns added frequently as well. The Havoc Pump Shotgun is one newFortniteweapon that players are going to have to get used to quickly.
Season 2 ofFortniteChapter 4 has started off with a lot of exciting changes. Thebiggest change is toFortnite’s map, naturally. Replacing Faulty Splits and the southeast corner of the island is the all-new Mega biome. Think of Mega City as an anime-inspired cyberpunk Neo Tokyo. Also new toFortniteare the Rogue Bike and the Nitro Drifter vehicles, offering up cyberpunk traversal options to match the season’s theme. But there’s more newFortnitecontent beyond that.

Already getting a lot of attention is the newFortniteweapon, the Havoc Pump Shotgun. On its own, the Havoc Pump Shotgun is a powerful and surprisingly precise option, even at low rarities. Its weakness is its fairly slow reload time, balancing out its high damage. That makes it a great option to swap to, or to fire between creating walls in build mode. Where the Havoc Pump Shotgun becomes ridiculous, however, is in its Mythic rarity form.
TheMythic rarity Havoc Pump Shotgun’s peak damage potential from a single shot is an astonishing 250 damage. To put that another way, it’s capable of deleting an opponent at full health and shield in a single shot. There’s 100 health, 100 base shield, and then 50 overshield, all that can be burned through with a single well-aimed Havoc Pump Shotgun shot. Luckily, only the Mythic version of the shotgun can hit these numbers. The gold version caps out at 190, which is something to be feared in its own right.
Acquiring a Mythic rarity Havoc Pump Shotgun is as difficult as it sounds. There’s no guarantee it’ll drop at all, in fact. Those players that want to hunt for it do have some options, though. Taking down the newMega City boss Highcardis one option. The only other known alternative is inFortnite’s vaults. It’s theoretically possible that an NPC might sell the gun, too.
As powerful as the Havoc Pump Shotgun may be, no weapon is a guaranteedvictory inFortnite. The gun has a lengthy reload time, so if players can make their opponent miss, it will leave them vulnerable. It’s also most effective at close range, so keeping shotgun-wielding foes at a distance is safest. Another great option is to find a Havoc Pump Shotgun and get the first shot off. Sadly, staying at full health and shield may not be enough, which may be a little OP, so players should make sure they’re the ones wielding the gun as much as possible.
Fortniteis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
