Fortnite’s latest update patch has officially arrived. While the newFortnitecontent update adds a number of things, such as gameplay tweaks and weapon adjustments, one of the most interesting things the latest version of the game now has is the addition of a mysterious NPC, Orelia.

The addition of the new character comes as part oftheFortnite16.40 update. In addition to Orelia appearing on the map, 16.40 also vaults the Exotic weapon The Dub in exchange for a new one called the Marksman Six Shooter, a weapon type not seen since the 11.0 patch. However, Orelia has a different weapon in her possession.

Where to find Orelia’s Location in Fortnite

Players will find tracking down Orelia quite the straightforward task, as she appears in an entirely new POI. Players will be able to find her by heading to the newly appeared island located just south of the now-defunct Flush Factory. Located near the very bottom of the map, those looking to reach her first will want to be sure to plan their drop-in off the Battle Bus accordingly, as countless players will almost certainly bombard NPC #50’s spot for at least the next week or two.

Once players have touched down at Isla Nublada, the name of the new landmark, head to the ground floor of the castle ruins where Orelia will be waiting inside, standing next to a pedestal. Talk to her to earn thenew Gold Lara Croft skin.

How to Pay Orelia’s Tribute in Fortnite

The pedestal in question holds a Legendary Assault Rifle, although the decision to just take it may be an ill-advised one. When players speak with the new NPC, she’ll demand a tribute. While her vague speech doesn’t reveal what the tribute specifically is, players are required to pay 750 Gold Bars if they want the powerful AR scot-free.

Should it be taken without paying the tribute, Orelia will instantly attack, meaning players should stock up on either bars or bullets when interacting with the new character. Many fans believe that Orelia is actually a version ofthe female Midas skin Marigold.Fortnitehas confirmed Orelia as Oro’s counterpart, who’s supposedly a dead version of Midas. The golden skeletal pair’s backstory largely remains a mystery.

The addition of Orelia could potentially hint at something deeper. It’s an interesting decision on Epic’s part to add an NPC so closely tied to one ofFortnite’s story threads, and during the final weeks of Season 6 on top of that. Epic Quests related to The Spire have dried up recently as well, and while purely speculation, her arrival may signify some sort of yet-to-be-revealed plot development for the game.

Orelia is the most significant addition toFortnite’s Battle Royale mode, but it’s hardly the only one to receive new content. The 14.60 update adds a variety of summer-themed assets to the game’s Creative mode, along with aCreative Summer Callout contesttasking fans with submitting their best game ideas for the upcoming season.
