Every week inForza Horizon 5, the game will cycle through a season with challenges to conquer and rewards to chase. Some of these challenges might ask a player to jump a certain distance in a particular car or win a custom race, and one of these races has a massive shortcut in it.
Forza Horizon 5’s event lab tool allows players and even Playground Games, the development studio, to create their own courses for everyone to hop in and enjoy racing on. Sometimes, the community will discover and take advantage of flaws in those tracks, especially official event lab courses.

On the “Airfield UTV Cup” track, a course Playground Games made usingForza Horizon 5’s event labsfeature, one player discovered that it’s possible to cut across half of the track and still complete the lap. In this Reddit clip, the player veers off the small ramp right after the first turn and then hurries over to the other side of the track. To get back in bounds, this player uses the gap between a truck and a warehouse and squeezes right back onto the track. The rest of video clip shows the player completing the lap without any further exploits. Currently, Playground Games has not taken the track out of rotation or disabled the money and XP gains from completing it.
Normally, theraces in theForza Horizonseriesrely on checkpoints throughout its courses to ensure that players do not attempt to cheat by cutting across it. If a player misses a checkpoint, then the game sends the player back before the checkpoints, so they can cross it. Some shortcuts are intentionally present such as the courses in the “Lucha de Carreteras” story missions, but others are unintentional, inviting players who find them to gain the upper hand when possible. In this case, the course’s checkpoints were in spots that allowed players to bypass half the track.
Whetherplayers inForza Horizon 5are treasure huntingor looking for murals, little discoveries like shortcuts always generate some excitement in the community. However, exploits are not always good for the health of a game.
Exploits, even small ones, have the ability to diminish a game’s content by trivializing challenges or letting players gain a potential advantage over players. One example of the numerous exploitsForza Horizon 5had is the near-infinite wheelspinsthat players used to earn massive amounts of cash and XP, which players then use for multiplayer races. However, much like how Playground Games fixed that exploit in an update, these developers will likely make sure that these mistakes don’t reappear.
Forza Horizon 5is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
