Forza Horizon 5is adding a number of free new rally-themed vehicles for all owners of the base game. With an all-new expansion pack set to launch late in March to celebrate the history and culture of rallying, developer Playground Games is intent on setting the right vibe ahead of its release.

WhileForza Horizon 5launched with hundreds of cars available on day one, the game’s subsequent content updates have introduced dozens more.FH5’s thematic seasons have provided players with opportunities to target-farm specific kinds of vehicles without needing to spend any extra money, and this is bound to continue in the coming weeks too.

Specifically, Playground Games is pulling a 180 with the content plan ahead of itsRally AdventureDLC, moving fromForza Horizon 5’s JDM seasonover to dirt racing and rallying. Players eager to prepare for off-roading will have the opportunity to unlock franchise newcomers 2021 SIERRA Cars 700R and 1980 Subaru BRAT GL, as well as two returnees from previousForzatitles, the 2016 Hoonigan GYMKHANA 9 Ford Focus RS-RX and 1986 Audi Sport Quattro S1. 2015 Honda Ridgeline Baja Trophy Truck, 2021 Polaris RZR Pro XP, and 1985 Nissan Safari Turbo will also be making an appearance.

Each of the aforementioned vehicles will spearhead its own selection of dirt-racing content, allowing players to test their skills beforeForza Horizon 5:Rally Adventurereleases on March 29. All of this means that players have a unique opportunity to substantially upgrade their garages with cars purpose-built specifically to brave rallies both historical and modern without needing to spend any extra money on the upcoming expansion pack.

Even more interesting is the fact that all the new rally cars will be able to hostForza Horizon 5’s new rally DLC upgrades, should the players choose to pursue them. These will be able to turn even the humble Subaru BRAT GL into a veritable rallying monster, competing with the very best cars the sport has to offer. The extent of these upgrades, of course, remains to be seen, but some examples include launch control, anti-lag, and fire-cracker audio effects.

Of course, even the newRally AdventureDLC won’t be able to truly makeForza Horizon 5appealing to players who didn’t enjoy its core gameplay loop. For some of those players, the upcomingForza Motorsportlooks incredible already, and it should offer a more serious, down-to-earth racing experience that is almost certainly going to include rally activities too.

Forza Horizon 5is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
