Fans might not be too optimistic after Miyazaki’s recent comments, as he also highlighted that the remake is only justified if there is a big enough jump in the hardware prowess between generations. “I think having new hardware is definitely a part of what gives these remakes value, things you weren’t able to achieve on previous generations of hardware” he elaborates. While Miyazaki didn’t specify it, he waspossibly hinting towardDemon’s Souls, which was remade for PlayStation 5, after being originally launched for the PlayStation 3 all the way back in 2009. This is further suggested in his subsequent comments, where he weighs upon how accessibility can be a deciding factor for remakes. “I think that accessibility is important. The PlayStation 5 might not quite tick Miyazaki’s boxes to justify a remake both in terms of accessibility, considering thatBloodborneruns quite well on the PlayStation 5, or in terms of a hardware jump as significant as whatDemon’s Soulswitnessed. That being said, it has definitely got a part of the community excited — the avid PC fans of the Soulsborne genre, who have ensured the rumors about a PC port remain trending for almost a decade.
