AGenshin Impactleak has revealed the new map expansion that will arrive in the upcoming update 4.1. The most recent major update has introduced the long-awaited Fontaine region which introduced tons of new characters to the game’s official storyline.
Some of these characters include Fontaine’s Hydro Archon Furina, also known as the God of Justice, another Hydro user named Neuvillette, a new Geo character named Navia, and many others.Genshin Impactusually releases new parts of a major region throughout its story arc until it’s time for a new nation to become unlocked. At the moment, five out of seven main regions are explorable with Natlan and Snezhnaya being the only missing nations.

Anew poston theGenshin ImpactLeaks subreddit has revealed a new part of the map that will arrive in the upcoming version 4.1. The new Fontaine region is so far considered a fan-favorite as it introduced a much different design compared to the previously released nations.Fontaine’s overall designis a combination between 1910s France and a futuristic theme which makes this region stand out. While the region also goes by the name The Nation of Justice, it’s also known for its devotion to advanced technology which is how HoYoverse introduced new unique enemies that belong to the Automaton family. According to the leak, the expansion will be placed north of the currently explorable terrain which came as a surprise to some fans.
Many players were expecting the region to expand to the east since there is a large gap of uncovered terrain between Liyue and Fontaine. While some fans think that this gap will be filled with a large sea, others theorize that it will be one of the most important locations in the game sincethe floating island known as Celestiais located above this terrain.
When it comes to new playable characters,Genshin Impacthas officially confirmed two new characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley. Both of them are confirmed to be catalyst users who are part of Fontaine’s main storyline. According to a recent leak,Neuvillette will appear on the first bannercycle alongside Hu Tao which should drop at the end of September.
There is a lot of hype around Wriothesley since he’s confirmed to be the game’s first Cryo catalyst user meaning that he can apply elemental damage with his Normal Attacks. This could make him a powerful asset to have in certainteam compositions that revolve around Freeze or Melt.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
