Summary
According to reliable sources, Version 4.6 inGenshin Impactwill reveal a fair bit about Natlan during one of its main events. Though certain corners of Teyvat, such as Fontaine and Snezhnaya, have been extensively teased since the launch of the game,Genshin Impacthas kept the Pyro Nation of Natlan shrouded in mystery. Bennett remains the only character in the entire game with ties to the region, and given that he grew up in Mondstadt, he has no useful information or special insight into his homeland and its current state of affairs.
However, Version 5.0 is fast approaching, and the doors of Natlan are expected to open in late Summer 2024.Genshin Impactis scheduled to release thefinal Fontaine map expansion in Version 4.6, effectively closing off the regional storyline of the Hydro Nation for the foreseeable future. Though Neuvillette teased Natlan as the land of endless war, hot springs, and dragons, recent leaks in theGenshin Impactcommunity have given players a much more substantial glimpse into Natlan’s lore.
What Genshin Impact Players Can Expect to See in Natlan
While rumors ofNatlan adding mounts toGenshin Impacthave already begun to circulate among fans, Team Mew and Uncle Teyvat haveshared additional informationon what players can expect to see in Natlan. The reason why the natives of Natlan haven’t ventured beyond their land is due to the existence of a taboo or curse. While the exact details of this claim are currently unknown, it would explain Bennett’s supernatural misfortune.
However, on top of an endless battleground, Natlan also has mystical hot springs capable of healing the wounds of mind and body. It’s quite possible that the hot springs will play a role in the Archon Quests for Natlan, as the overall Chapter is called “Incadescent Ode to Resurrection.” As is tradition,Genshin Impactwill also feature the Fatuiin Natlan, with their efforts to obtain the gnosis spearheaded by Capitano. Accessing Natlan will only be possible through crossing the Sumeru desert, at least in the initial Version 5.0 launch.
The eastern parts of Natlan will have two new enemy types forGenshin Impactplayers to challenge. The Saurians are draconic enemies that dwell inside the mines of Eastern Natlan, and Uncle Teyvat has described them as being similar to the Geovishaps of Liyue. Separately, there will also be proper, fire-breathing dragons as a new type of foe. While there is no information on whetherGenshin Impactcharacterssuch as Xbalanque or Iansan will have ties to Eastern Natlan, the zone is apparently inhabited by the Nazcayan people, a culture of mine dwellers and gem appraisers. Unfortunately, it may still be a few months untilGenshin Impactdoes an official reveal of Natlan.
